This looks pretty decent pity they dropped sd slot idiots.

Looks good, I hope we see a Nexus device based on this. I don't care about an SD slot so that part doesn't bother me.

It's got 32GB storage.

The first phone to have 32GB storage came out almost 5 years ago. You'd think we'd have moved up a bit by now.

As long as 32GB is the norm then a micro sd card slot is always needed.

This will be the new nexus 5 by all accounts with nexus 4 pricing but without the snapdragon 800.

I quite like it, I like the tiny bezel looks nice but then again I'm pretty dull.

What an utterly ignorant thing to say

All these people with iPhones, Nexus 4 (including me), HTC One.... Must be totally disappointed!

I don't even use half my 16GB storage on my Nexus 4, 32GB would be more than enough.

It's virtually all screen, what do you want diamonds? Or maybe a logo of an Apple?

How is it ignorant. I'm not saying 100% of consumers need over 32GB. I'm just saying that 32GB is too small these days yet it's become the top end standard. No phone manufacturer gives 64Gb anymore on their base or standard model.

And so until that time when storage is so high it's not an issue then we always need micro sd card slots as some consumers need more than 32GB.

Confused

When someone knowing pro Apple says that about an Android device with no justification it's an obvious conclusion (it was also a bit of tongue and cheek).

No you said with 32GD an SD card slot is "always needed" which for most people it clearly isn't as most manufacturers are moving this way.

Yes...

I also said it's always needed in my second post as well.
You're just repeating what i said.

Maybe you don't understand what i'm saying but what i mean is that if a phone comes with 32GB storage it should come with a memory card slot as well.

If the phone came with say 128GB storage then that's fine as that's above the average storage size on a phone. But since 32GB is average, and has been on phones for 5 years. And phones come with a 2 year contract... it makes sense to have a memory card support.

A memory card slot takes up space making the device bigger and increases build cost, it's reasonable to leave it out when the majority of people find it enough.

The fact is not every phone in the market has to have an SD card slot just because it happens to be a feature some people like, that's the advantage of Android, no reason to have 1 device fits all. Some people like 2 SIM slots too, should every phone have that?

Oh come on. Memory card slots are cheap and take quite literally zero space. It's not hard to include one.

And if you done the research you'll know android is the reason there is no micro SD anymore. Google are trying to phase it out. So now that LG have moved away from it that's very disappointing as that's another device with a bottleneck.

From Nexus devices yes but nothing is stopping companies like Samsung including it for many years to come if the demand is there.

Anyway IMO an SD card slot Is definitely not always needed, certainly not for everyone.

Perhaps we don't understand because you aren't explaining yourself very well.

With regard to the last paragraph. What is the average storage size on a phone and how much do people really use? Do you have any figures or evidence to support your claim that 32 Gb is the average phone storage for the last five years ?

It looks quite interesting but for me maybe the lack of a removable battery would be a problem. The SD card is debatable. I'd prefer to have it but I could get by without it.

Did I not read the article properly I thought they were holding the battery is it not removable

What i'm saying is 32GB phones have been around for almost 5 years.

And phones with 32GB storage as standard has been increasing over the past 3 years. So because 32GB is standard there should be a way to expand it because otherwise manufacturers are just releasing 32GB phones and going nowhere.

I mean imagine if 32GB SSD's was still the dominant seller 3 years on. At least with an SSD you can replace/add storage yourself.

I really like the look of this phone and the buttons on the back could be a good thing but the only way to know that is by living with it. You can wake the screen by tapping on it twice.

I've had 16gb phones for the last 4 years( mostly because the price manufacturers charge to jump upto 32gb or more is over the top) and never had storage issues. I've got about 4000 songs on Google music /iTunes match and 1000's of pictures on google+ and 200 apps, because I'm on 3 I don't worry about data caps. If I need local storage for a flight or any other reason then I just pin a few albums or play lists.

You could be right. I was just going off a hands on video from the launch I saw on YouTube yesterday. Haven't read the article yet.

Edit: Just seen the picture of the battery I think it is removable then. P

How about an interesting design and an LG logo would be more appropriate - not sure LG would want an Apple logo on their phone...how bizzare.
