So what is actually known about the Episode?

Is it an hour long special? Is there going to be extra episode, or a documentary etc?

I was trying to remember the 15th Anniversary where they were all trapped in the Queen Vic due to an unexploded bomb from the war - at the End Pauline came out and said something to Dot about "Do you remember Reg Cox, My Arthur found him...that must have been about 15 years ago now..." Then it cut to Grant and Peggy (and phil?) and they went outside and looked up at the pub and there was that slow music (not the Dum Dum Dum's) as they talked about Family's and Walford being 'Home'.

Does anyone remember what happened on the 10th Anniversary Episode?

So what we going to see for the 20th? I heard Andy dies then i heard Den dies - has anything been confirmed does anyone know?

I think they should do a Sunday Night hour long special episode, to mark the occasion. I loved the 15th anniversary episode, it was brilliant.

For the 10th anniversary I think we celebrated the birthday of Ethel Skinner with a knees up in the vic - even though in the early years Ethel said "Ethel May Skinner...after the month I were born" - but Ethel's Birthday & real age was always an EE mystery - and as it was Ethel we were celebrating, who cared - she was one of the greatest characters ever in any soap!

In that EE15 episode, it was filmed as a special episode not in line with their schedule - you could see this as June Brown was on leave at the time of this but popped up for that one episode that was filmed nearer transmission. At the end Dot should have said this...

DOT: You know Pauline it's about 15 years today that Reg Cox died
PAULINE: Yeh and it was my arthur that found him
And Dot should have replied
DOT: yeah and it was my Nick that killed him

In all honestly Id rather have a celebratory episode than an extended edition with the death of one of the EE originals - who spoke the very 1st words

A celebratory episode would be nice but the thinking is probably to do something different than the last time. Killing an original member who spoke some of the first words connotates that EE is now entering a new era.

In a way they are doing this by having Den murdered and buried in the cellar of his beloved Vic. Granted he didnt' speak the first words.....who did speak the first words actually?

rather it was Zoe said it to him!
It is plausible that Michelle had it off with Den in 1985 as she had just turned 16 and he was in his 30s. It was her first time and spur of the moment.
But why would 21 year old Zoe choose to have it off with a rather haggard 50 something Den?
Does he supply his own viagra?

Zoe could have gone clubbing anynight and pulled a Dennis lookalike easily to have a qukkie with & get pregnant instead of sleeping with Grandad Den!!

Does anyone know ANYTHING whatsoever? It's all speculation, isn't it?

So it looks like the Anniversary episode will be on the 18th and not a special on the sunday.

EastEnders' spokeswoman said the soap's 20th anniversary would be marked on 18 February by the departure of character Den Watts, played by Leslie Grantham, and "the climax of some of the show's most explosive storylines for a very long time".
