i'll check the 'website' out.
i give apologies for misunderstanding the 'author's identity'.
my excuses are the following:..
the 'post' was quite long, i must have lost track of who! was who!.
it takes about '2yrs'

for my pages to load and i was too busy surfing/posting on other threads to have time to backtrack.
if i was at fault, then i trusted you would correct me.

however, there was no shortage of other FMs being helpful in pointing out my mistake

If the article had not been written by a BBC reporters I would have kept quit and let you think that I wrote it however I did not t want to be don for plagiarism

What in heaven's name has Dany become a banned user for? Despite being dyslexic and not the most coherent arguer I have ever met (sorry Dany) she has conducted a sterling fight single-handed against what she sees as prejudice against disabled people in the face of considerable criticism and redicule. Is she now a non-person or have I mis-understood?

Yes, to reject an applicant purely on the basis of being disabled is pure prejudice. However, I suspect endemol aren't selecting applicants on just personality, more on the criteria of will this person make us money, so if the disability has an associated extra cost, this would bear on their decision.

i used to shorthand it as 'kilroy culture' but he killed that expression all by his own-i-kins

I have cerebral palsy, a disability which comes in many different forms, but luckily the form I have just means that I can't walk without help.
On one hand, I do think it would be good to have a physically disabled housemate in the BB house, because it would be interesting to see how other housemates will react towards someone who would be disabled and may be in a wheelchair.
On the other hand, I feel, like Nadia, it will spark off yet another sympathy vote campain, and if I was the one entered into the house I would be incredibly annoyed if people voted for me just because of my disability.
Concerning the article made on the Ouch! website about the fact that 150 disabled people applied for BB and didn't get through, I have a feeling that the BB production team might not have been as harsh on people with disabilities as some people had said. I have known and read a lot of stories about people who in the past have gone to interviews and not got through and said that the only reason they didn't get the job was because people were discriminating them because they were a woman/disabled/black. Therefore some people may be exaggerating the fact that people discriminate against them.
I feel that on the next series of Big Brother, no matter if there is going to be a person with a disability in the house or not, they should make sure that everything is at one level, that means NO STEPS!!! This means that if people with disabilities wanted to apply for BB, then they wouldn't have a big reason not to apply because the house won't be totally unaccessible!

good point
i dont have the exact figures and im having trouble finding them but say an overall of 10,000 auditioned and among those 150 people classed as disabled auditioned. now the odds are stacked against the 150 arent they? i mean if the number of disabled people auditioning were nearer 10% or so i think there could be a justified prejudice claim.

their terms and conditions for BB/2005 should give you some confidence in knowing that the 'application-field' is now even wider...
this 'year' should be interesting and revealing for those who may have doubts about Channel4/endermol's policy for 'inclusion' to ALL
