Gets more bizarre. Favourite to btyahoomail now only goes to a BT log in page. Its stopped going straight through to emails. Clicking email on that now goes straight through to emails, but the page is still the Btyahoo one with BT yahoo logo.

Is this what other people have had? Are they really doing the transfer to BTmail in small steps, or have they forgotten to do something?? No official word of anything transferring by any date recieved so far.

So, is this the final, final, final decision now?

“Important information about your email service

Hello,

As you've used your @btinternet.com email address in the last 90 days, we need to let you know about some changes we're making.

We're closing some of our older email services, and your BT email address will stop working after 14 April 2014.
What you need to do to keep your email address

There are two ways you can keep your email address. But whichever way you pick, you must do it before 14 April or you'll lose your email address and the contacts and messages associated with it.

1. Sign up to BT Broadband
You can get BT Broadband here and then link your BT email address to it at bt.com/linkemail.

2. Get BT Premium Mail free for 12 months
If you don't want BT Broadband but do want to keep your email, you can sign up for BT Premium Mail. Find out more at bt.com/premiummail.

Don't need your email address any more?
If you don't want to keep your email address, and everything associated with it, tell us and we'll delete it for you.

I don't want my email address
To find out more, or for information on how to save copies of your messages and contacts before 14 April, go to bt.com/emailchanges.

If you're a BT Business Broadband customer

Looks like I'll be going for option 2...unless something changes again in the next 15 days.

Don't use my talk21.com free email account very often but trying to log on just now it doesn't work. Can anyone confirm BT has closed down all the old free talk21.com accounts? Thanks

Don't hold your breath in the expectation that you will ever get anything resolved with BTmail.

I signed up to the Premium Mail account for £1.60 a month, because we are no longer BT broadband or phone customers but i did not want to lose my BT email address as it was going to be a pain to change it.

However, for weeks now, despite checking the box on the log-in screen to remain logged in, I am logged out after only a few hours...I have to log-in at least twice every day due to this. The checkbox does not even "check" now... The most recent development is that I now cannot log-in using Google Chrome - my usual browser and can only access my BT email if i use Internet Explorer.

Frankly, for the level of irritation and time I have wasted in getting the fools at BT to find out what is wrong, I'm beginning to think I ought to just tell them to shove their email, cancel the Direct Debit and walk away after all.

Total shambles and it is no wonder BT now has such a poor reputation.

Thanks for your reply. When BT announced their plans to charge, I simply moved all my email accounts to a different free email provider (GMX). Then they delayed talk21.com closure until recently, so I assume now it's completely gone. I had well over ten years of free email service so I can't really complain.

Your problems logging in may be due to cookies, which may need deleting.

Nope. That's all been ruled out. I've even had input form BT who seem to have no clue whatsoever as to why this is an issue... but one thing is for sure - it's at their end, not here.
