There's been a number of rape and sexual abuse scandals to come out of Weatherfield's actors this year. If Michael LeVell and Bill Roache are found guilty the repercussions could be very serious.

With the latest rape scandal from Chris Fountain, one wonders for how much longer clients will wish to buy airtime during the programme? If it's not making money, then could one of the longest-running British television programmes find itself with such a sullied reputation that it cannot carry on?

But surely one has to be concerned with the seedy off-camera antics?

Absolutely no chance, can you imagine the public outcry even in the unlikely event of it seriously being considered?.

I think they should start filming all the offscreen stuff because it's far more interesting than what is being scripted.

Putting what Chris Fountain has done in the same league as what the others have allegedly done is very random.

Chris Fountain rapped a song with questionable lyrics, it's not a rape scandal

I think what Chris Fountain was not think about what he was rapping about but it was filmed before the unfortunate suspensions of William Roache and Michael Le Vell, pending court cases and I think Coronation Street bosses want to protect people and this is why they needed to be seen to be doing something so it does not seem they are condoning his actions or rap song lyrics.

That makes sense. I'm just thinking that shit sticks - even if it's bullshit.

Yaaay! Give the OP an award - we finally found somebody dafter than Uncle Q. I am seriously impressed.

You're gonna have to work really hard to regain your crown, Q.

Yep, no doubt it'll be put off air and we'll just get constant Midsummer Murders and Doc Martin repeats.

I know, I'm seriously ticked off at having been so unceremoniously dethroned OJ.

Yes, it should be axed.

I'd get Chris Fountain to reboot the show, call it:

Bronx Street

"Set in New York's The Bronx, the rebooted Coronation Street show is going to appeal to a younger audience," said ITV's Chief Executive Willy Pratt. "The plots are going to be modern. We're ditching stories about hotpot and extra-marital affairs. We're going with modern storylines to do with drugs, underage sex and teenagers wearing daft masks. It's going to be well sick, man!"

William Roache was unavailable for comment but his lawyer said "my client might watch the new version of the show if the prison wardens allow it."

Nahhhh........Corrie is an institution it will survive anything........I look to Corrie for some lighthearted humour at times, especially after watching the dire Eastenders........enough to make you want to turn to drink that programme.......
