Do you have a link to the apology? Just interested to see it

Someone has said scenes were cut tonight - is this true?

sadly that's the thing with 5* ratings more often than not they don't get reported like the main channels. we had the same issue with Live from the house with BB

I tuned in last night on 5* and it wasn't on.
Why not? I listened to what was said about the move and that an episode will be shown last night on 5* and it just wasn't on.

Last night? as in Wednesday night? It was on Tuesday night at 10pm.

I keep wondering what will happen to Joan. Part of me thinks in the finale she could die. It seems obvious to me that her storyline is up. She's too big a character to have a whimsy prison transfer exit.

I could have sworn that at the end of the episode the announcer said that it would be moving to 5* and that it would be on the following night on the new channel.

He did. That was monday night on 5 and the following night was TUESDAY night and it did indeed air at 10pm on 5star.

So what episode are we up to?
The last one I watched was when Bea beat up Will at the end of the episode.

But C5 could be handling the change a lot better- it should be starting on 5Star next Tuesday as opposed to this week. Would allow longer for them to promote the change, two episodes in two days is ridiculous.”

If this is what has happened to Wentworth - Rebecca Root, Harry Hepple and Denise Welch should be worried considering their ratings. Wouldn't be fair keeping that with low ratings because of The 1975/transgender angle while dumping Wentworth.

There's no QI ep on Tuesday - so BBC2 may throw that at 10pm on Wednesday depending on ratings. The remaining BMG eps will probably go out at 11.15pm Wed nights or against Casualty.

That show is on BBC2 though ain't it? I don't think the BBC would be looking for a bigger audience at 10pm and don't have to worry so much about overnight ratings unlike channel 5 who make money from advertising revenue. Also, Denise Welch? Surely that's a good reason to switch off?

Regarding the move of channels; my sky plus didn't pick it up. I've had to reset my series link.

I'm not sure that any PVR can follow a programme across channels - my Humax certainly didn't. It is one of the penalties of setting up a series link without keeping a check on what is happening.

Luckily I was skipping through this thread and picked up on the channel change. I don't know how people cope if they don't belong to DS!

The statement from channel 5 said that freesat and freeview tuners wouldn't be affected but sky users would need to reset their series link, I just checked my freesat planner and it didn't record it either!! Grrrr.

Honestly, channel 5 couldn't organise a p**s up in a brewery! Almost every drama they get their hands on ends up being shunted off to a graveyard slot or shifted over to their 5star channel, Wentworth/Dallas to name but a few always timeshifted very well but overnight viewing figures tended to struggle as each season progressed, the main reason being that apart from big brother and maybe a couple of other shows, nothing rates very well on the channel.

There is a big fanbase for Wentworth yet channel 5 are clueless and don't have the intelligence to screen the show on the same day as it goes to air in Australia. I know for a fact that they had the option to screen the show nearer the oz premier date as far back as season 2 yet chose to delay it, usually until Celebrity Big Brother airs (despite the two shows probably attracting different audiences) and also made cuts to some of the episodes, furthering the frustration of many fans.

Wentworth is available to watch in HD online literally an hour after it screens in Australia, so many fans watch it this way, channel 5 really haven't a clue how to treat a great drama.

I imagine the number of hardcore Wentworth fans who watch this way is miniscule. Wentworth's woes in the ratings have nothing to do with when it airs in Australia. It just hasn't kept the audience who tuned in at the start

And why exactly that's happened really mystifies me. The first few episodes of this season have admittedly been know where near the high drama and many peaks of previous series, but, I know it going to hot up again and get significantly better and for me anyway, it's still very the best drama series on TV at present. I'd be genuinely curious to know why those who've abandoned it have exactly.

it's a mystery to me too. I was gripped from episode one and the last series surely would've had regular viewers coming back for more. But it's struggled to even do that. No one can fault the show

I think that they have lost fans because it went all "Silence of The Lambs" and I admit I didn't like the second epi of that. But third epi (Freak being 'ganged') won me back....and now I have no idea how to watch the 4th episode

I think you'd be surprised, in any case in today's download/streaming environment it makes no sense not to air a drama as soon as it premiers overseas.

If you can't watch on My5 catchup then it is supposedly being repeated at 1am Monday 18th on 5*, so hopefully you have a recorder otherwise it will be a late night !

Shame because Wentworth is quality drama.”

It's not on Sky's catch-up yet.
