Dan CC Kindly posted in the Ratings thread.

Wentworth Prison up 44% in its second week on 5Star to record a consolidated audience of 607,000.

that's bloody good going for 5*. I do think C5 jumped the gun moving it to 5* but they will be pleased with those numbers

That is good going, hopefully they'll continue to rise.

I love the scenes between Maxine and Boomer

Their friendship looks so real and performed by two good actors

I must admit i did cry watching them together

I have to admit. Boomer is the highlight of every show for me. I think she's bloody brilliant.

Agree also, great stuff between Boomer and Maxine tonight. Superb acting from both of them. That's been a great little sub plot.

Can anyone confirm what episode number that was? According to my Virgin on screen guide that was series 4 episode 6 but looking ahead to next weeks (to get a sneaky peak about what's going to happen), that's listed as series 4 episode 8?? Surely we're not going to miss a whole episode? I can't see an extra one due to air between now and then.

It was Episode 7 according to Wikipedia.

Can totally see what others were saying now.
JF standing there. Hears a conversation out comes Panto Baddie smirk
just isn't working with her in that role is it? As Governor was working perfectly
at the moment the entire non prisoner cast seem to be treading water. Its almost as if the writers didn't have enough time to give this season enough depth

Totally agree boomer and Maxine are stealing the show. Doreen sadly has gone the way of the original character and just be bloody glad to see the back of the stupid cow.

Yep, thanks for that. Just done a bit of subsequent investigation myself and now just assume that the Virgin guide listed it wrongly.

Yes, sadly agree. Her involvement at present is all a bit 'panto like' isn't it. And she just happened to have a convenient place to position herself just a few feet away from them in order to hear everything. It's still great drama IMO but moments like that do make me roll my eyes somewhat. It's been better than that previously.

Yes. When she was Governor it made more sense because of her obsession with CCTV. And she knew the work patterns of both the inmates/officers.
its a shame they got the direction of her so wrong this series, Personally I would have toned down the last season, building up to the time it came crashing down and she finally gets caught and punished.

I'm glad the original series never covered in depth her being an inmate it just isn't working

Yep, again I agree oathy. I know she's a major character and for the record a very good actress too! So, its understandable that they wanted to retain her but ultimately they've taken it all just a bit too far. In reality the end of the last series really should have been her swansong.

Interesting that we saw no Frankie tonight (or last week I think?), did they realise I wonder that they took her as far they could and sensibly left it there?

Sonia Stevens, in for murder, she was in the original as Roslyn Coulson.

I thought she looked familiar.

I don't think she did just happen to be there, I think she is specifically tracking Bea.

I didn't actually say that Inge. I just mentioned how 'fortunate' shall we say that she was able to conceal herself without being spotted so close as to be able to hear their conversation. For sure she knew they were going to meet there and so went there and 'hid' deliberately.

And she's certainly tracking her movements and is out to destroy Bea. But does or doesn't she I wonder. All of this is no doubt going to be the major part of this series cliff hanger ending.

I'm of the opposite opinion to some of the posts, I think there is still tons of scope for Ferguson. She has really intrigued me since season 2 and Pamela Rabe's portrayal of the character has been nothing short of excellent. It's been interesting watching her on the other side of the bars. I would like to see more of the Jake Stewart and Joan relationship as well.

I have seen the finale so am interested to see how that plays out into season 5 (but for those who haven't I am using spoiler tags)
Spoiler
It's going to cause problems for Vera because A) how will she explain that Bea was allowed out of the prison unsupervised at the same that Ferguson is released, and that she went out armed. And B) why Ferguson wasn't released through the front. Vera has a lot of explaining to do, and this move could actually end up supporting the case that it is all a conspiracy against the Freak. As I mentioned earlier I quite liked the team of Stewart and Ferguson working together so I hope that is explored more in 5. I can see him doing some damage and I like him. I am also surprised that they killed Bea off but the season did have an air of finality about it for Bea, she was written as hitting the point of 'what now' but I still didn't think they would kill her off so soon. Did the actress choose to leave?

I hope we see more of Franky too, it's such a loss not having her in the show full-time.

By the way did we ever find out what happened to the previous nurse? I liked her.

Yeah guys really use the Aussie pace thread to discuss all future events out of respect for those watching at UK pace. Its only fair. Even with spoiler tags you can tell what is being discussed.

Definitely my favourite episode of the season so far, had me on the edge of my seat for the final 10 minutes all the cast are just fantastic. Although I love her, Joan really does need to go soon though as it's dragging the season down I think.

Agreed.

And agreed.

I can totally see why they've had her in this series and why they've done what they have with her character. She really is a great actress. But. Seriously, that's gotta be it for her now, period. They can't take her any further after this and if they do it would certainly go beyond panto like ridiculousness.

I haven't checked/seen and if I have I've forgotten, but she's not signed up for series 5 I'd hope.
