Vodafone Live settings, can they be removed?

Just bought a SE S700i that is Vodafone Live enabled, I believe that I can't use MP3 ringtones because of this, my supplier reckons Vodafone can remove these settings in their high street shops but my local one said that is rubbish! Anyone heard of this or done anything about it?

They can be removed but you need to do it yourself by buying a t28 serivce cable and a credit for a program called total multiserver, which can not only unlock you phone but restore the origanal sony ericsson firmware so it does not have the red live crap everywhere.

Its a really easy process as long as you remember to Fully charge the battery first. i brought mine from there, the code and link for the software was sent in the email, the cable came if a few days.for all your SE questions about this and everything else go to www.esato.com

is it completely safe then, no chance of ruining the phone?

yea its safe, at the end of the day it can always be recovered , but make sure you do your research first, i made the mistake of not bothring to fully charge my battery even thought it stated millions of times, i messed my phone up, i charged my battery from my other ericsson and tried again and it worked, it take about 30min to fully decustomise the phone.

probably being thick but how do you recover if it goes wrong? I presume the phone is back to all the normal SE settings once the branding is removed?

hey the phone recovers it self when you try again, it does not alter the hardware so its safe, it will be a proper SE firmware with the vodacrap branding all gone and you will be able to use MP3 tones.
