Asda Mobile
Hmmm....looks interesting. If it's anything like Asda it could be quite cheap. The following article is taken from Mobile Today: Quote:
Supermarket giant Asda is in talks with mobile operators over the possibility of launching an own-brand MVNO to rival Tesco Mobile, according to sources.
The company is understood to be revamping its electronics business, with a heavy emphasis on mobile phones. It is currently recruiting a new director to head the department and is looking for someone who has had a senior role within the mobile industry, the source claimed. Asda currently lags behind Tesco, the country’s biggest retailer, which has surged ahead of the competition as it has expanded out of food into the more profitable non-food sector. Tesco Mobile has notched up 500,000 subscribers since it launched its MVNO in partnership with O2 in September 2003. However, Sainsbury’s MVNO has been less successful. An Asda spokeswoman denied that any deal was imminent, stating: ‘There are no current plans, but we’re always looking for new initiatives.’ |

I will go with them as long as they don't use the O2 network like Tesco do!
I think Morrisons may bring one out as well soon as they seem to only sell vodafone phones in their shops so i would reckon they would use the vodafone network! I hope that ASDA use vodafone or T-Mobile networks as this make it a good service

My local Morrison's only sells T-Mobile phones!
According to a senior manager I know at Morrisons, the company is not looking to expand in non-food items such as Tesco and Asda are. |
