I am still watching. Series 2 is not as good as series 1. The songs are just not there this time, I don't want to spoil things but I miss Ivy/Karen being rivals.

I am watching it, i really liked series 1 but you can totally see why this got axed and lost viewers. Series 2 is not a patch on series 1 and a lot of the storylines seem really forced. I dunno, they bought a new EP in to "sort it out" and i think they actually made it a lot worse and took away the best elements of series 1.

I really enjoyed season 2 - it was a bit jarring to see certain key characters/arcs from season 1 be instantly dropped (though I can see why they were), and also the way in which the new major plotline almost instantly appears, but it has its moments, and is worth sticking with (unless Ellis was you favourite character!)

I can't understand why this season bombed in America and killed the show. I think season 2 is even better than the first and love the songs from Hitlist.

I finished episode 7 and am starting to see why it has been cancelled. After a strong season opening, its story lines have left me feeling mostly uninvolved. Jimmy is an extremely irritating character and the whole Hitlist storyline is boring. I have found myself fast forwarding through most of Debra Messing's storylines too.

Only Ivy, Derek and Karen are interesting, the rest just feels like filler

I loved season one of Smash, but season is not so great. I think it's over now - jumped the shark.

I'm still enjoying the show as much as I ever have, the songs from Hitlist are incredibly strong. Just hoping for a satisfactory conclusion to all the storylines.

It's been good but I don't really like Karen so I phase out a bit when she is talking plus the young lad from Hitlist seems to get angry very quickly which is annoying but I am still enjoying it

If they'd stuck with Bombshell the show would still be running. Hitlist was an annoying counterpoint.

Hardly. The series was dead after the shocking ratings for the first episode of season 2 were released.

It's not as good as the first season, perhaps, but I'm still really enjoying season 2. It's very entertaining with some great characters. Shame it's been axed. I love shows about the theatre-world.

My advice, cos in the end i watched all the remaining episodes, is stick with it. I disliked series 2 at first but i found that later episodes really started to come together and I was very glad i didn't give up.

It is also somewhat of a relief that the final episode does bring some element of closure rather than ending on a cliff hanger (which would have been a disaster).

I think, on reflection that it is good that it only had two seasons. I felt the stories of the characters are told in the episodes made.

I'm on episode 12 of series two and can also see why it was cancelled.

There seem to be way too may sub-plots and twists and turns and features about characters that i am just not interested in that leave me feeling exhausted after an episode. I too loved the diva behaviour and the songs. Guess it has just run its course.
Still a fabulous cast and I adore Megan Hilty.

I was really enjoying last nights episode until the final scene. Kyle was one of the few characters I liked this series and it appears he has gone.

Why do they keep swapping backwards and forwards between Derek/Karen and Derek/Ivy it's getting really annoying plus so is the whole Jimmy thing. I agree I can see why it was dropped as now Bombshell is up and running where will the story go?

If the show had continued, season 3 would of been about a musical film.

So Hit List is going to be staged for real, one night only.

Was just going to post this, not sure id want to see it as it seems quite depressing. They didn't say anything about Katherin McPhee who you would think would be the ticket seller unless it's just industry people like the real Producers etc.

An interesting idea, if in town at the time would certainly try to see it - afterall we are familiar with the tunes etc.

Could live without Nanny mcPhee but a few walkons from other Smash actors would be fun.

Sigh. I really wanted to like the final episode, but in between the writers' determination to tie up everything and give everyone a happy ending, and the self-referential nonsense of the final number - performing in front of the Smash logo, really?!? - I just couldn't enjoy it.

The final four episodes were a bit of a mess, really - so many storylines suddenly crammed in to so little time.

A shame. I really wanted to love Smash - for all its flaws it did have some great moments - but it all just fell apart towards the end.

I've penned a review of the season overall if anyone's interested ...

Did anyone find the last scene with Karen and Ivy like a homage to the final scene with Velma and Roxy from Chicago?
