BB14 comes to an end Monday night so thought a thread sharing your opinions and thoughts on the series would be good.

My BB14 review -

I personally think this has been the best series since BB10 and before that BB7 - it's been consistent, had good/interesting housemates and the two who (imo) have been most entertaining have made it to the final - Gina and Dexter.

I also enjoyed BB13, but it was way too nasty at times, whereas BB14 has had a better mix of light and dark which has given it a good balance. Housemates have often had fun and been shown dancing etc. with each other whilst there has also been plenty of drama and arguing too.

The housemates have also worked well together and it has proven to be a good mix imo, HMs such as Sallie and Wolfy gave a lot to the show during their stay and emerged as 'big characters' straight away whereas others such as Callum and Hazel, have slowly become more interesting and been centre of the show at times. My two favourites, Gina and Dexter have been consistent throughout and both are now in my top 10 HMs list. The evictions have more or less been in a pretty good order too and most HMs, whether I liked or disliked them have contributed, the only true dullards being Daley and Sam.

I'll also post again after the final because if one of Gina or Dexter win it will end up higher in my estimations than it already is.

Anyway, that's my opinion on BB14, so share yours here!

The first series I didn't like anyone sufficiently to want them to win. So frankly, a wash-out.

I don't like any of these housemates, last year I liked a few of them, and I also don't like all this bollocks twists, secret and lies bullshit, contact with the outside world bollocks

only improvement on last year is they haven't given half the prize money to a sinister misogynist, well, yet

On the whole I have loved this series, especially after last year when tensions rose because of Conor smirking off with half the prize fund.... and the bitchy cliques.......

This year was like a breath of fresh air to me........until the friends and family nominations and we got to see the 4 'ladies' over two days revealing their true characters......

After that my interest flagged.......Sam found a voice, and not a nice one at that.......the twins got even sillier, if possible.....and Charlie......less said the better.......the most messed up female on there for a long time......

Whoever wins.....OK.......but if it is Sam, then I'll just pop into the forum to check up on CBB........couldn't bear seeing him in the CBB house......two weeks of him was enough......

I'm repeating myself here but I got much more into this series when the late night live feed started. That and the fact my 2 favourites - Charles and Dex - are in the final means my approval rating for BB14 is probably higher than for BB12 and BB13.

As I've always believed, VTE is no worse than VTS but I do miss the head-to-head evictions and really don't like BB picking and choosing how many HMs to put up.

It's been pretty good. We've had the usual interesting characters going over what some would call dullards. But we've also had in my opinion a change in the history of BB, Dexter and Gina would have been out on their arses any other year, but this year their characters have huge support which is new territory for viewers to still have such controversial characters in the running. They're usually killed off before the final.

BB10 had the most boring final 5. BB11 was a one horse race. BB13 had the Outsiders having won before the final came around. BB7 was decided before the first week was over. BB8 was a cluster**** of a series. Only BB9 for me has been this wide open for the final 5 not including Charlie.

As soon as one big character left, another stepped up and took their place. Callum awoke and became center of attention out of nowhere, Hazel had her ups, and downs. Dan was always in everyone's business. Dexter has had everyone guessing all series. Gina's defied all odds. Wolfie and early favourite ruined herself. I think most evictions were foregone conclusions and this series would have benefited so much from a vote to save. You'd have a Dexter, Gina, Dan, Callum, and Sam final imo.

I've loved it. I think it's great how the housemates were more based on their character and personality this year than throwing a bunch of housemates in with the hope that a million relationships would spawn out of nowhere. I think that all of the housemates have been really good, and Dexter and Gina are the closest thing to an all-time great (e.g. Makosi, Victor, Aisleyne) housemate we'll ever get on Channel 5.

Well it's been my favourite since big brother nine, which when you think about it, isn't saying a great deal.
Great but uneven start - putting half the housemates in on launch night fell hideously flat, but the whole Michael storyline was very well done - and it's rarely let up this series to be fair. I think it's limping over the finishing line a bit, but then they all tend to.

I've really enjoyed it generally. It wouldn't be unfair to say it's had some dull patches, but it's maintained a good standard throughout and there's been lots of big characters. Big characters have been evicted but that hasn't been as big a deal as it has in previous series as other characters have stepped up, and also lots of the biggest characters (Dexter, Gina, Hazel) managed to stay till near the end despite vote to evict! It's also had the best first week for a Big Brother series ever imo. I'd say the best since BB7 for me

Terrible series. I gave up weeks ago and after seeing clips here and there, I didn't feel any motivation to catch back up.

I'm just waiting for Celebrity BB to start.

Fave since BB7 but too much manipulation and outside interference by BB

A really good series overall although it was more entertaining at the start/middle than it now.

There was too much interference from BB towards the end of this series, I didn't want to hear about Dexter V Callum or Hazel V Gina, it was starting to get on my nerves.

It is also nice to see that the most popular thing this series has been about a friendship, virtually everyone loved Ginxter at one point or another and still do love them.

The tasks have all been quite good, I think the pause task was everyone's favorite, it was funny, happy and emotional all at the same time. Hopefully they keep coming up with good ideas like this.

The low point of the tasks was the Honey one, it just seemed bias and looked like BB was trying to cause conflict. At least it attracted all those wasps to scare the twins shitless which has been hilarious.

All the housemates have had their moment one way or another even if they were boring at first (Callum) or boring the whole way through the series (Sam), at least they have become talking points at some moment in time. That being said, BB should thank the lord they got Gina and Dexter into the house as it would have been boring without them.

Excellent series. The best since BB7. The quality of the unique and dynamic housemates make the other Channel 5 series seem embarrassing in comparison. It is really exciting to see this show pull out a fantastic series so late in the day.

It's not been too bad.
Loads better than last year's, which wouldn't be difficult,
and the couple of hours LF has made it the best series on C5 for me,
but it needs more LF to compete with any of the C4 series, including 4 & 8.

The (biased) HL edit alone simply cannot be trusted.
And the manipulation has gone beyond a joke.

Gina & Dexter have carried the whole series.
Without them, it could've been truly dire.
Sure, the likes of Dan, Hazel & Callum also had their moments.

The major downer will be if Sam wins, as then it will fizzle out into an average series with a wallpaper winner.

Not enough of seeing the HMs having fun and laughs together, unfortunately I don't think this is the fault of edit. Too much arguing and gossipy behaviour. Too manipulated by BB. Disappointing series for me, but thus far none of the Ch5 series have a patch on Ch4.
Looking with optimism to viewing CBB.

It's been slightly better than recent years but I still think they need an equal split of housemates. Half who want to bitch and half who want to have fun! All the fun has been sucked out of this years show because they have had miserable housemates who just want to bitch about each other. IMO we need fun housemates who will take some of the focus off bitching and more on to the fun side. I don't mean the twins kind of fun either who I just think are idiots....just so childish! I mean fun housemates who are pranksters or cheeky....like Craig in BB1 or I'm lost for a 2nd one...help!
Less bitching will make for a better quality highlights show instead of us thinking we are watching repeats night after night with the same housemates featured! After all BB is now playing a VERY dangerous game & in danger of ruining it's own show completely! this years show has proven that all you need to command air time is to create as much controversy as possible by bitching provided you are good at twisting it round to look like a victim and the whole show is yours. With the lack of proper live feed like the old days commanding the attention of the cameras in the highlight show gains you attention and gets the quieter ones out!

It has been surprisingly good in many ways, lots of eventful things happening week to week. I thought it was very risky to bring back vote to evict but it seems to have developed nicely.

I've remained generally quite positive about it, although there has been a distinct lack of humour throughout. Most of the tasks have been embarrassingly desperate to start drama and stir up ill-feeling and hate between housemates.
Plus it looks like it's heading to the dogs leading up to the final with a bit of a flop for a winner. Quite a disappointing end really.

It would have been a good BB if it wasnt for so much of the biased editing and so much outside influence

I'd disagree with that - none of the housemates are particularly witty, but they've all been fairly good humoured. BB13 was fundamentally depressing on so many levels so this was a huge improvement.

Other than the tasks being focused purely on causing arguments (as mentioned), I think one thing that's missing from the series is conflict resolution. Dexter and Charlie are so massively passive aggressive and unwilling to resolve their feelings (while Gina and the Twins both play up shallow characters), there's not been very little interesting debate between the housemates - especially since Dan left.

Craig slept more than Sam and was worthless for most of his series. He'd be crucified on here nowadays.

Great thread, thanks OP!

A few comments while we wait for Monday's show:

• I love the interesting range of housemates this year.
• I loved the first week with Michael, the actor - it really kickstarted the game.
• I did not like all the "outside" influence - fake headlines, fake fan letters, chanting eviction crowds; I think it leads to unnatural behaviour.
• I "hate" the manipulation that BB goes to for romance; gawd give me a break with the droning love triangles!
• I also dislike the tasks geared to conflict; it will happen naturally without BB needing to manufacture it.
• I dislike the heavy emphasis on analysis on BBBOTS; a little bit can be interesting fun but they go overboard, especially with questions to evicted housemates. I want more wackiness and think both Rylan and AJ have potential; Emma is too "sappy" for my taste.
• I did not enjoy Charlie as a housemate - she acted as a negative sponge for attention. I spent too much time trying to avoid the bottomless pit of her suction power and it was painful to watch the males in the house - Callum, Dexter, Sam - get sucked in.
• and finally, I loved the safe house and the twists - every single one of them!

I've enjoyed it much more than last series which was for me the biggest and dumbest series of BB to date. It was just absolute shit and glorified awful behavior start to finish. I only cheered for Luka A to win because I thought he was one of the least annoying and lesser nasties of the series.

This series has been fun, most of the HMs seemed reasonably human, and I liked BB messing with everything to keep it moving. It never got stale. Most of the HMs have been worth it aside from Sallie and Wolfy who were just too annoying for words. Equally, Sam and Sophie were too boring for words. I hope there's no one like those 4 next series. And no TWINS!

The only thing that I really wanted to see that never happened were a few weeks when EVERYONE was up, and half-way HMs going in. I'd like to see punishments be a bit stiffer than just jail as well. You talk noms, you go up for the vote etc. etc.

I hope Sam or the Twins do not win. That would ruin the series - for me.

I'm prepared for ruination.
