According to this, this year's weather has created the ideal conditions for a bumper crop of sweet and rosy apples, experts say.

Just a shame we gotta wait a bit longer before the 1st ones are ready

Zari apples usually ready the beginning of August, won't be in the shops this year until early September.

Not in my family's orchard it didn't. All the blossoms came out late and all at once and didn't last long enough in the heat to pollinate properly, so we have very few apples on the trees.

Does your family make any money from this orchard or do they just have it for pleasure purposes like most people have plain old gardens for?

There are a couple of apple trees I walk past while walking the dogs and they're bursting with fruit. I'll definitely be plucking some of those when the time is right to put in a crumble.

Just out of common interest, that is all.
