i personally think that without the spice girls, music would have been bland; they added an edge to music in the late 90's that took the world by storm, and i personally feel that they were good, taking into consideration the amount of records sold. wot does every1 think?

They did well to encourage all-girl groups to come out into the limelight (e.g. All Saints)

all girl groups been round along time
martha reeves
the velvelettes
going on a few years bananarama
i wasn't of the era but i saw a docu where oprah winfrey was describing the sight of the supremes on mainstream tele for the first time, the way she described it, i can't imagine that the spice girls ever represented the same social impact.
But I did like 2 become 1, nice tune.
though no-one beats the slits for me. not nice tunes, but some impact for a gal my age!

They were OK.
As far as manufactured pop goes that is probably as good as it gets.

Indifferent, but their music was s**t, and to state music would have been bland without the Spice Girls, suggests your not listening to the right music.

Hate em. Bunch of ar*e. Didnt bring anything to the music scene apart from more crappy pop. They were crap, couldnt sing (look at the solo careers), not particularly good looking (maybe Emma Bunton on a good day) and they are just royal pain in the ar*es!

Half of their songs were decent.

All of their songs are better than the bilge in the Top 40 these days.

It' like Take That though, I hated them in the early 90's but now I’ve come to the decision that as far as Boy bands and Pop Music goes they are the best of the lot and along with East 17 defined their Genre better than anyone else during the 1990’s.

Hate 'em. Glad they've given up the music malarky, now if we can just persuade Geri to do the same.....................
