No Signal when switch on TV
Nightvision
18-08-2013
Hi,

Got a Smasung TV connected to my Sky HD box via an HDMI cable.

I switch off the TV using the remote control.

When I switch it on via the remote sometimes get a message saying no signal found. If I switch off the TV then switch it back on it then works.

It's really anoying having to keep switching on and off.

Any help or advise greatly appreciated.

Make sure you switch the Sky box on first, then wait a second or two before turning on the TV.

Thanks for that.

I never switch the Sky box off or put it in stand by.

Switching your SkyHD box to standby when it’s not in use can save up to 50% of the
energy it uses (so the light on the box turns amber).
Updates, timed recordings etc. are not affected.
Better for the environment and your pocket

My LG sometimes gets this if I'm using the PS3, turn it off then switch the TV into standby, without returning to Sky. When I switch back on it won't find sky, and I have to reset the Sky box.

The same happens to me on the odd occasion with my Samsung. In my case my Onkyo amp is doing the HDMI switching.
Switching off the TiVo or just pressing the "Home" key will often correct it.
