DCT3 or DCT4?

Anyone on here know what the difference is between Nokia DCT3 and Nokia DCT4 mobile phones?

All these phone unblocking software stuff ask you to chose if your phone is DCT3 or DCT4, but i don't know the difference. I can i tell if my phone is DCT3 or DCT4?

Easiest way to tell is to use a different program! Most unlocking programs will allow you to enter the model number rather than the DCT.

The normal way of telling which is which, DCT3 phones are the older ones, generally with no storage for SMS on the phone itself, generally monotones and mono colour screens. DCT4 are newer phones usually with MMS capabilities, storage on the phone for SMS and JAVA capabilities

Haven't got a Nokia phone, but typing in *#0000# brings up some info about the phone.

This doesn't display the DCT model. It shows the sofware version, when it was flashed and the NHL version/number.

Yeh i already know about this. what is the NHL version/number and wot does it mean?

Also, is there anyway i can check if my Nokia handset is blocked to a particular network without putting in a SIM card of a different network? I would like to check this on a Nokia 3200

Only way i know is to put the sim in and try it.

dct4 is pretty much anything that is as or more advanced than the 8310

3200 is dct 4 asic 2

Download cruxunlocker from my website, it will set the type...asic etc for you. Website is in my profile.

If you go to that site, it has a list of lots of the Nokia phones and their versions. It isn't completely up to date but is a good start.

y duz cruxunlocker give so many codes? i tried the first one and i gt message saying restriction off bt putting a o2 sim stil ses fone restricted. Im using Nokia 3200 on Virgin mobile.

Because there are more than one lock on a mobile phone. I always start with code 7, then code 2.

Inputting them all once may be awkward and time consuming, but its preferable to a trip to your local shop where a charge would be made for the same outcome.
