EE has revealed some of the demographics of its 4G customer base.

25-34 year olds account for 31% of its base. This was followed by 35-44 year olds (23%) and 18-24 year olds (21%).

Traditional web browsing and email accounts for the most traffic on EE's 4G network (40%), with video second at 26%. YouTube alone accounts for 14% of all traffic, with social media usage at 13%.

Dat killer app!

Whilst other networks have been getting exclusive deals with Sky Sports they should have just been saving their money and telling customers to pay extra for 4G so they have the ability to google search and read emails!!!

Wether it is a 4G connection or not it is still a phone or tablet you are using.. Email and Browsing on the move are going to always be up top. 26% for video is quite high, not far off the average home connection!

Yup, i was just joking about the killer app.

Quite high for youtube and video streaming. And the demographics do sound about right. Surprised about the number of young people though,

My partner and I are in the first age group above and we have 4x4G sims between us and our friends are around that age group slightly more women than men... Although not a snap shot of the UK it seems about right stats wise for us.

EE seem to have gone a bit quiet on the next places for 4G rollout and the places that are getting double speed upgrade next. In fact i dont think they have turned any more double speed ares on after the first batch they did.

I know quite a few people who are now on EE 4G as been offered good retention offers from Orange/T mobile or need the extra speed

Perhaps it's because they've started to put that data into the coverage checker.

I see Plymouth is finally getting coverage within 6 months (apart from the cell site surrounding the Orange call centre there), but not Exeter (at least the bits I checked). No announcements though.

Lucan said the next announcement will probably be in a weeks time to coincide with O2 and Vodafone's launch. Well he didn't say it in so many words, but implied that might be when the next lot of press releases go out.

I should imagine the tech bloggers will work that into their copy, Vodafone and O2 launch as EE now clocks up x cities and announces x more etc...

O2 are only launching in 2 areas, so they might get some stick for that possibly.

Well hopefully EE have something to release soon then about new roll out places as they announced a few places a while back but most of them places have still not had the 4G signal turned on yet. Also hopefully more double speed places announced as well

Hi could you tell me what sort of retention deals they have been getting? I have unlimited data on orange and would like to try EE4G but packages are expensive with little data
