TXF started at 7.58pm, 2 minutes early.

Have to agree - there is not enough money in the whole world to make me watch 10 seconds of Keith Lemon.

Strictly Come Dancing's first live show: Friday 27th September 2013.

Presumably it will clash with Coronation Street again.

It would have to drop to 8.2m to match last years third audition show rating, which I don't think it will. It's not a confident prediction on my part though because we've only seen two ratings - so it could go either way really.”

I don't say this much but I completely agree with SamuelW. The X Factor is going to be severely hurt by the clash; if it's not down on last week I'll be pleasantly surprised. Stepping Out will be annihilated but Through the Keyhole should be alright.

Hopefully the Bruce Forsyth special on Saturday 21 September is scheduled for about 7.45-8.45pm, I think it will rate very well.

I loved Strictly, even though it was just an introduction to the new partners.

Fabulous set and great fun dance at the end.

Really looking forward to three weeks time when it starts proper.

This, I'm so excited for the series now, it looks like its going to be a really good, fun series, and I love how Dave Myers is chuffed to bits to even be there, that's exactly what I'd be like!

Ouch, that show could be DOA.

You only want it there so it hurts ITV.

What did they do last year? A 60 minute show for five dancers with the remainder dancing on the Saturday?

Looked really good from the trailer. This is another way BBC One can revive Saturday nights. Specials thought the year.

Yep I think they split the celebrities dancing over two nights. But I dont remember a clash with "Coronation Street" it was launched at 9pm

The IOC will be choosing whether to give Istanbul or Tokyo host city for the 2020 Olympics within the next hour. For ratings purposes, the BBC will really be hoping Istanbul wins so most events are in prime time. If Tokyo is voted host city, most evening events local time such as athletics finals will end up at 12-3pm in the UK which isnt great. Decision to be made soon. Fingers crossed Istanbul wins.

With no lead-in to speak of this week and the 10 minute overlap plus the fact that it's week 2, Samuel isn't wrong to say that X Factor should be down on next week. And with it only being one hour tonight that 10 minutes will have a fairly significant impact on the overall average.

It seems more likely that it will occupy the Strictly slot, surely.

IIRC the Torvill and Dean episode of Piers Morgan did well when promoted around Dancing On Ice. And the Cheryl Cole episode in 2010 was huge when aired after X Factor. These things tend to work well.

Got almost as high a figure as X Factor does itself these days!

Samuel I think that reason is quite low on IOC's list!

The Olympics should go to the best looking bid and the safest.

Drama in Buenos Aires at the IOC 2020 Olympics vote.
Madrid OUT after losing a tiebreaker against Istanbul.
Tokyo and Istanbul fight on.

Through the Keyhole will be tape-checked from 21:05. Also, I *think* Strictly may be tape-checked to 20:05.

In my opinion yes, it teased enough to interest even a casual viewer to check it out, the sets are rumoured to be spectacular and for once I have no qualms about the cast. It will capture the Merlin audience that's certain but it will also appeal to those who want to watch a good family drama as they wait for SCD.
