Still waiting for the Eastenders bounce then. First we were told it would be the car crash, then Ronnie's return, I suppose we'll wait for Peggy's cameo now.

Awful for Whitechapel. I think the series has gone a bit too dark / gothic. It seems a lot different to when it first started.

The Wentworth slide is disappointing too, lost almost half of its audience from a fortnight ago.

The X Factor must be on its last chance in the US. Simon will be back in the UK for The British one next year at this rate.

Considering it was getting 400k+ last year, a tad disappointing.

I would have thought the BBC3 repeats would have helped expand its audience a little bit.

On a different note, ITV are plugging Emmerdale this evening.

I think there's an Atlantis screening tonight as well.

Last night's EastEnders wasn't a rescheduled episode shoved in, like what has happened with Coronation Street on Sundays recently, it was an extra 1 hour special episode, as the main event in their special week.

Therefore to be behind Emmerdale is really poor and you have to wonder why they bothered airing two extra episodes this week at all.

For once, I agree with you. Although the Coronation Street episodes were not just late additions to Sunday. They were scheduled!

Not a great week for Channel 5's 10pm drama's with both Under the Dome and Wentworth dropping below 1 million without +1...so early on in their respective seasons, it begs the question, when will they level off?

Wentworth should have better legs then Dome, but Dome is showing no signs of shedding its viewers

Emmerdale: 7.03m (37.2%) / 7.23m (38.3%)
Eastenders: 6.62m (29.9%), +2.5: 592k (5.1%)

Is fantastic for the ITV soaps. Which is therefore very disappointing to see both Big Star, Little Star and Whitechapel drop week-on-week.”

I now believe EE has plateaued.

Why is Whitechapel posting such awful numbers? it was doing ok on its last outing.

Interesting that the Sarah Millican WDYTYA rated so well. Another example of DS being out of step with the general population. Everyone hates her on here and rants everytime she appears on TV!

Whitechapel rating so poorly is a mystery, yes it isn't a Monday and doesn't have a Corrie lead in, but it's still a good slot and a returning name that people already know.

Masters of Sex I imagine is airing at 10pm, surprised they're not pairing with Homeland.

ITV have actually aired some pretty decent dramas in the Wednesday 9pm slot. None seem to reach the dizzy heights of their Monday offerings! Bletchely Circle only achieved mediocre ratings on a Wednesday as did Lightfields. Perhaps people have accustomed themselves like Robots to watch certain types of programmes on certain days! Wednesday is the day they like light factual and Monday and Tuesday is drama! Thursday is a mixed bag whilst Friday is comedy and Sunday a mixture of light entertainment, light factual and drama!

I think it has more to do with the psyche of the audience these days. We've become too sophisticated. There is nothing wrong with the dramas, just the slot!

Bletchley Circle was Thursday. Mrs Biggs was Wednesday and should have done better than it did really.

I do think that Wednesday isn't a traditional drama slot, although I don't really know why.

The sudden collapse in ratings does seem peculiar. It will surely be the last series.

Hahaha, XFactor USA is well and truly dead with that dire start to the season! Beaten by Big brother and couldnt even get a 2.5 rating . With the general trend of XFUS dropping from auditions to live shows, it'll be rating between 1.5-2.0 later this Autumn for many episodes. FOX will have to cancel it and Cowell will be without a job next Autumn.

Yes there is, I mentioned it earlier, it's how I found out about the Masters of Sex screening. Given that they're screening on the same day, I take it they're for the same week. I'd say it starting on the 28th is all but confirmed.

Could go Monday 30th, 10pm, which wouldn't be that bad a slot for it and it's only a day after the US. Although I'm not sure The Fried Chicken Shop will give it the best lead in.

I imagine LN put in place several big events in EE in the hope at least one of them would boost the soap. So far the first two have failed (although Ronnie's return has helped ever so slightly), the next is Peggy's return, then David's. If neither of those work then I expect low ratings until December when the new producer may have been able to make some changes. After the big events have aired I bet they're are more filler storylines where LN hoped the audience would be higher than it is, from the bigger ep's previously.

Since the last big week when Heather died, an out of place ep on Wednesday got over 7million (7.6million I think) in March I don't see why the much heralded and promoted return of Ronnie can't boost the soap.

Without a job? I'm sure ITV will welcome him back to XFUK with open arms.

He'll probably be angry. Real angry. So angry he channels it into XFUK and Strictly and The Voice are cancelled as a result

I can think of a job he could have next Autumn that you wouldn't like...

Simon will be back as head judge on TXF in the UK next year, replacing Gary Barlow. Bad news for Fox, good news for ITV. It certainly makes the UK ratings look excellent for XF

I really have no problem with the XF. But I really do detest Cowell. Perhaps ITV need a cleaner? XF is doing fine without him!

However, for some bizarre reason lots of celebrity focused people seem to like him so it would boost XF figures for certain. That would mean SCD would need to up their game. Good for both shows perhaps to have a shake up!
