ITV (exc +1)

20:30 - Coronation Street: 8.12m (35.8%)
21:00 - The People's Medal: 1.52m (7%)
Wow!

Just wow!

That must be up there as one of the biggest cliff-fall ratings drops in British TV history? Yes, I know we've seen bigger drops than 7m, but not from an 8.12m start.

Staggering that it happened in a slot famed for Corrie stragglers boosting the ratings.

Does anyone know what Fight Back Britain (BBC1, 8.30pm) and Ade Adepitan: Journey of My Life (C4, 8pm) got last night?

Many thanks!
I've posted the rating for FBB - 2.68m (11.9%)

As for Journey of My Life: 419k (1.9%).

Repeat of train documentary on BBC Two, up against soaps, just 340k short of ITV's brand-new, Corrie-boosted 9pm exclusive behind-the-scenes royal factual offering.

Great for the first BB show, only 37k off the launch and 100k above our upper hope of 2m. Shame being on so late shed 350k for the second, but still one of the highest ratings of the series. Channel 5 should be more than happy to renew.

Let's face it, new factual doesn't rate well on ITV on a Monday even with a Corrie lead-in.

How about Mumbai Calling which followed on from the BGT final in 2009?

That's a drop from 17 million (or you could say 19 million as that's what BGT had by the end) to just 4 million.

I have come to believe that TV executives don't understand TV.

If supermarkets were run like TV channels you would find detergents next to cooked ham, milk with the cat food, and the fresh fruit in the frozen section.

They don't seem able to put together an evening of programming unless it's soaps soaps soaps, back to back.

But the way ITV squander their soap numbers is criminal. They just don't even try.

Sadly not.

They have this mangled new system where you can only access 5 reports as part of the free trial. Different to when I had a free trial for over two months, able to access virtually anything on that site.

Apart from Corrie and Emmerdale, everything else on ITV looks dire. All of their daytime bellow 20% some below 10%. Take on the Twisters is dead, The Chase was getting triple that. Daybreak is dying, This Morning is looking weak, however hopefully the ratings will pick up in the A/W months with The Chase returning soon.

BBC1 are lucky to have programmes that attract the rate well anyway, where the older folk flock too. Looks like Perfection and Escape to the Country are the only weak links in the daytime schedule.
I detest the phrase "Usual Suspects" in Perfection. Using that term makes no sense.

The White Queen has been axed.

Though, I expect it was only going to be one series anyway.

There was room for another series since there is two more books in the Cousins war trilogy but ratings weren't good enough to justify a renewal.

17:00 - Take on the Twisters: 984k (8.9%)
18:00 - ITV News Central: 2.75m (18.6%)
18:30 - ITV News & Weather: 3.09m (19%)
19:00 - Emmerdale: 6.48m (36%)
19:30 - Coronation Street: 8.09m (40%)
20:00 - You've Been Framed: 2.25m (10.4%)
20:30 - Coronation Street: 8.12m (35.8%)

I'll do the rest later.
Apart form its soaps Itv did pretty bad. And that Twister thing is a flop the chase used to get over 2mil in that slot so it shows viewers arnt interested.

It's a sad day when a celebration of ghastly people with no talents out rates a show about people who have spent a lifetime of service to this country. Never over estimate the British public.
