Thanks for clarifying.

I'm pretty sure auto correct doesn't spell it wrong though.

That's a pretty outdated expression though. Pretty soon that horse won't be able to remember its own name.

The appointment of Humes on The Voice is now confirmed: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s154/...ma-willis.html

Wonder what Simon Cowell will say if somebody his empire brought into the public eye leads to the further downfall of that very same empire? (N.B. I am aware this is a hypothetical situation!!!)

Firstly investment in a new show or multiple new shows is likely to be greater than the cost of continuing Waterloo Road at this point. This results in fewer hours of original (scripted) content on BBC1 and either more repeats or more cheap non-scripted filler. Neither of which will go down well with the media or indeed people in this thread. Additionally who says that this new show appeals to the same demographics as Waterloo Road or attracts a bigger audience? Plus there's the BBC Scotland production issues. Ending shows like Waterloo Road is a big decision and a difficult one to make. People here massively oversimplify it. Equally moving it to BBC2 or BBC3 is an incredibly difficult thing to do for budgetary reasons if nothing else (and there are many other reasons).

The One Show most definitely fills PSB requirements and does it incredibly easy and frankly very well. I can't speak for Rip Off Britain having not watched it nor looked into at all but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it to filled PSB requirements as well.

Looks like there is definitely a SCD / XF clash on 28 September.

SCD running 19:00 - 20:25

XF 20:00 - 21:30

(XF 90 minutes on both Sat & Sun for Bootcamp)

Isn't X Factor usually at its most vulnerable during the Bootcamp weekend? Can only see one winner there then. (Mind I could only see one winner anyway...)

If not they run the risk of losing the show and that particular demographic.

Although again I ask the question of just how popular is it with younger viewers?”

I think Waterloo Road is extremely popular with teenagers can't remember how well it does but it does very well. But I think when you're a drama that goes out at 8pm you should be getting 4-5m in overnights.

Very strong BBC1 line up on the 28th!

Looks like ITV have got a lot of plugging to do, considering its particularly vulnerable at the bootcamp stage as mentioned above.

The first 25 minutes will obviously be hurt but it has the opportunity to grow from then on.

Sorry if my post is a bit Samuel-esque...

Still think The Voice should have looked further afield than somebody discovered on The X Factor.

And with Atlantis after Strictly as many said would happen.

The Great British Year, formerly known as Seasons, will take over from WDYTYA? on the 2nd October as I expected, should do well for BBC One.

Shame they didn't start a new drama in that slot or on Thursday (Disaster Britain, one off filler doc) though, but I think it'll be the week after (w/c 5th October) when BBC1's Autumn really starts. New Tricks and Motorway Cops finish, freeing up Monday and Tuesday, I think we'll see The Escape Artist and The Paradise in those slots, although there's a slight chance of The Paradise moving to Sundays.

The character has had a bit of a resurgence in the comics plus DC are releasing a new comic that's a team up with Superman and a new graphic novel so clearly DC are trying to increase her popularity, the head of DC Entertainment and WB says the character is a top priority after Superman and Batman but I think a movie is more likely than a TV series.

Procedural wise this year there's Killer Women and Mind Games on ABC both scheduled for 2014 and both unsold. Fox have Almost Human and Rake which are both basically procedurals albeit Almost Human has a pretty strong sci-fi bent. Both are unsold and Almost Human is set to begin later this year after the World Series I think. That might change if Sleepy Hollow holds well though. NBC have Blacklist and Ironside. Blacklist would have been perfect for Five but Sky Living beat them to it and Ironside which is unsold could work well for them. I guess there's Chicago PD as well which will have procedural elements but given that its a spin-off of Chicago Fire its appeal is likely limited.

That's incredibly easy to say and incredibly difficult to do. As many shows can demonstrate grabbing a young audience isn't as easy as you think.”

I can see Ironside or Intelligence going to 5, there seems to be a focus on comedy rather than drama this year.

In that case, maybe this weekend you could get us a breakdown for X Factor?

Endeavour series 2 has gone into production which means it should be ready for broadcast in early 2014. Hopefully this next series sees an increase in ratings, as this years were slightly underwhelming considering the reaction to the pilot ep.

Can't help but find it odd that The Voice has picked up a former X Factor act as host considering the fact that the two shows are meant to be rivals on screen.

It's probably their way of burying the hatchet.

The extension of overnight brand The Store into a full channel, in conjunction with JML.

Nothing really relevant to this thread.

Should be interesting tonight. BBC One has some strongish competition from ITV with the ECL and Man U, still expect BBC One to win the evening with EE and New Tricks, but ITV could get 5 million peak if this game is good.

These are the age demos for Waterloo Road's premiere episode the week before last, kindly provided by rzt:

C4-15: 523k (16% skew)
16-34: 791k (24%)
35-44: 416k (13%)
45-54: 547k (17%)
55-64: 286k (9%)
65+: 717k (22%)
All viewers: 3.28m

Forty percent is a huge under-35 skew: higher than either of The X Factor's shows that week, for instance.

Episode two last week dipped to 2.90m (13.7%). In order to match the equivalent episode last year (by the calendar) it needs to get 3.54m (15.6%) this week.

Thursdays at 21:00 are presumably off-limits for BBC One drama for a while due to Peaky Blinders.

BBC Three's repeat of EE only got 284k which is unusually low.

Very surprised to see that EE is still trailing Emmerdale on a Monday evening in mid September.
