Many people are getting out of the habit of tuning into the so-called "main" channels.
There is no longer any belief (in my view) that the main channels will automatically deliver a reasonable standard of programming. |

I think one of the reasons for low ratings is the lack of choice and the fact we had a much warmer Bank Holiday than last year (cool and wet from memory).
It was a disappointing night on the main channels. I stuck with Birds of a Feather on Drama 8-10 then Gordon Ramsay on CH4 10-11 then Family Guy and bed. |

Hope CBB got close to 2m with +1. But is it just me, but those are very low ratings in general for the main channels.

Delighted to see the main channels getting the crap ratings they deserve.
It restores me faith in people that they have figured out it is not the 70s and you are not restricted to a couple of channels for 'entertainment'.

Once again Film4 was the standout multichannel performer. 2.9% all day share. Beat ITV digital channels comfortably (ITV2 scored 2.6%, ITV3 well below par at 1.7%).
Dave was also a popular choice in multichannel homes, ranking 3rd with 2.2%. |

I doubt the main broadcasters will get their "automatic" audiences back, they are taking their viewers for granted and I think it will be hard for them in future years.
Are their other channels making up the difference though? ITV2 seems to do all right for ITV, but I doubt it compensates enough. iPlayer? For a few programmes obviously so, but mostly iPlayer ratings are low. |

Dire for CBB, no excuses. May as well carried on the civ series for the extra 3 weeks and keep the momentum. CBB should get at least 2 million.
1.7 is great for BB but not for CBB |

That episode 2 rating is still a very good number for them in that slot. But is it done dropping? I hope so but head says no. In the same slot Ramsay mustered 1.12m inc. +1. |

Would be interesting to know how Take on the Twisters did in the earlier slot (or really, how much it fell).

Another strong week for CSI: NY. Up to 2.41m from an overnight of 1.6m. Then another 462k watched a repeat on 5USA during CSI Sunday.
They ought to promote the final episode heavily when it goes out in November. It could get 2m+ in the overnights. |

1.94m including +1 for CBB. Great climb. Hope to see another climb to 2m tonight judging by the colder weather.

Delighted that the 39th screenings [excluding +1 as we must! ] of The Bourne Identity ran BBC1s big new documentary a close second!

Ah well, it could match CBB10. Not catastrophic like some shows which are dropping.
What did the first Monday of CBB10 get?

Really? Or below the pattern for last year?
Last year's Bank holiday Sunday 1.6m Monday 2.1m or counting by the days from 1.9m to 2.1m. More data needed in order to determine whether this series can beat the run last August. But basically broadly in line with last year so far. |
