Early shift reporting for duty

Ahh Fink. Been finking of you ... see you're back already. Hope it wasn't too much of an ordeal for you!

I'm too sh*t scared to go to the dentist. Been suffering ongoing pain now for 7 years .....

Try and keep the noise down today you lot .... feeling a bit delicate

Welcome to newcomers. Make yourselves at home but stay away from MY sweets, cakes, cheese and booze, and you shall be fine

Vote to save and for that reason I think it will be her too. No fan base to start off with, well not to speak of and the Irish who may have known of her can't vote from the Irish rep - or so I have picked upon here.

She hasn't done much to win people over and has taken her nom as badly as i have ever seen. Nothing against the woman but bad tactical play I think.

I wonder if they know the series is on VTS basis.

my dentist has this neat trick to avoid the anaesthetic, he freezes the nerve and does the filling while the nerve is numb from cold, you can't feel a thing and you don't have that pain of the injection or the aftermath defrosting

Thankfully the blades are off being sharpened this morning. so we'll have no further talk of lawnmowers today, thank you

Last night's LF etc (in case anyone might still want to watch it) ... started off ok, but there's only about 25 minutes of footage that's not low-key bedroom stuff. Ron snored at about 1.25 and made me jump. Dustin spent a while practicing making his head detach and hover about 2 foot above the bed . Other than what planets said, that's about it.

It's still an insane sound barrage outside - it's taken two pneumatic drills and a sledgehammer more than a day not to dismantle a garage. Garage is winning - it's still nearly 3/4 standing and one of the workmates just swore after a loud crash. Ron's had a look and reckons about 5 minutes injury time to add

Ouch

Peoples fears are strange arent they? I hate driving over long bridges and flyovers. Puts the fear of god into me.

Go, soonest. After my experience with a protracted extraction, I stayed away for years and am still paying for it. Also treatment has come on enormously; filling took less than five minutes from start to finish.

Your cakes are safe! Can't eat for a bit(e)

I am with you DM. All the dentist talk on here sent me off the thread feeling queasy yesterday. Its not the pain that scares me its the damned cost. I have two broken teeth - not hurting (yet) but the cost of whatever they do will be extortionate.

My old dentist retired and we now have new, young blood who has taken over and wants to conquer the world starting with my teeth I must admit I have only seen him twice in the last couple of weeks and he seems to be very very good indeed. He had ultimate patience with me when he took my huge back tooth out 2 weeks ago. My old dentist was a bit reactive rather than proactive and maybe my teeth are not in as good a condition than I thought they were. I am going to be brave and get them sorted out before I lose the bliddy lot and am unable to eat cake.

Lucky you don't have to go over the Severn Bridge all the time! The old one still gives you a swaying feeling!

Oh God me too. In fact any sort of edge scares me witless. In fact even a picture gives me collywobbles.

I used to do a lot of work in Bristol and had all sorts of weird ways of getting around the area to avoid THAT bridge. I used to live in terror of a journey north up the M6 knowing I had to cross the Therwell (is it?) Viaduct. But now its wider its fine I hardly know I am crossing it.

Like I said last night I have dental insurance but now need 4 teeth out (I know 4!!), but due to the fact that I will need to be knocked out (£250) and the lab work for my new bridge not being included in the insurance its still going to cost me £500 to have it done.

The cost of delay is greater as I know from experience

I thought I was the only one I will go miles out of my way to avoid them.

O.M.G. Seriously, I want to cry at the thought of it. I have a pain in my pelvic bone just imagining driving over it.

When the wind gets up, they reduce it from two lanes to one. Second crossing much, much better.

My take on The Lauren Love for Linmic.
I have pondered this, obviously as the number of people loving Lauren is increasing everyone will have different reasons here are some I have observed:
People like eccentrics
People find some of the things she says funny
People remember her as the strange little boy and have watched the documentary about her and this makes them feel sympathetic towards her
People perceive her vulnerability
People are seeing Lauren do things like volunteer to massage Ron’s feet and be gentle and empathic saying things like “oh they are swollen do they give you much pain?”, when Carol and Danielle said they wouldn’t touch them and could eff off and were being a bit snidey about them (ron’s feet that is)
The fact that the housemates laugh at Lauren rather than with Lauren is not liked, the fact that she seems unaware they are laughing at her, adds to this, so people feel protective towards her
The elephant in the room is Lauren’s looks. I do think although it is unspoken people are taking many aspects of Lauren like her history, the housemates behaviour towards her etc and a part of them is doing that “walk a mile in someone’s shoes” thing, where they think (subconsciously) how would I be if I had to go through life like that.
Once she made it into the house Lauren has been quite gentle and tried to speak with everyone and not bitched about anyone and this is in direct contrast to some of the other housemates. After the wars and arguments of the recent BB I think people want something a little gentler.
These are initial thoughts from that which I have observed around the forum

It's not the cost that worries me about going. My situation makes it tricky just to get to a dentist, never mind that I could write an encyclopedia on all of my fears Bridges is probably about the only one I've not got ..... but then I've not been across one in many years so that could all change when I do My nearest is The Humber which is actually quite sturdy!
Know I can't keep putting off the D word forever .... but until that day comes .... I shall suck cake through a straw if I have to

Edit : Not sure who I'm liking yet in the house. I know who I'm not

Great observations planet. All you say is quite true. She hasnt been bitchy and she has been kind and gentle like you say. I just feel so uncomfortable for her all the time, its like she's struggling in some way and I cant put my finger on why. Maybe life has just been so tough for her that she doesnt really know where/how to fit in. I hate that the others laugh at her, its unkind and unnecessary.
