Not at all! I prefer animals to most people. At least their loyal and you can depend on them. If that sounds sad I don't care.

My dogs are part of my family and I love them to bits

Wow! That does surprise me actually (very little usually does lol) I guess no place is immune. Quite sad really I just don't understand what people get out of being so nasty.

Luckily my parents knew we loved them, and that we were loved........my last memory of Mum was giving her a big cuddle in the hallway of their Cornish bungalow, and saying I love you.......miss them like crazy........like you ....... my Mum was the hardest act to follow.......two of my children have named their children for my Mum.......that's how loved she was.......and one Grandson after my Dad......

Sometimes the world is cruel. We have a local pizza place known for awesome but amazingly bad for you pizza. You can sop up grease off the top with a paper towel before you eat it and it still drips. Right next door to it is Weight Watchers. The pizza place was there first, by years. I think it's just the people who own WW are sadists.

I may have gone a bit OTT there, but you do get odd people who seem to want to upset anything that is just running along happily........and they did.......that's why I left........I check in now and again and it has quietened down now thank goodness......

They're just amazing little things aren't they
I've been housebound through the years and where friends have got fed up and drifted away, the pets in my life have still been there every morning refusing to give up on me

It was at least a year before I realised what Labbie stood for. Before that I thought it was something much ruder, my whole perception of you changed when I realised my mistake.

That's great Dangermoose,......when Mum died my Sis and BiL lent their dog Lass to my Dad, she often stayed with them anyway........and Dad said it saved him......he had to get out of bed in the morning to see to her........as you say, when friends are nowhere to be found, your pet is always with you......

Snickypoo and Dangermoose, sorry I can't do that quote thingy, I have never been in your situation but animals are just the best thing. Our old labbie worships my hubby, he follows him everywhere, into the kitchen, the loo, everywhere. When he goes out our labbie just sits by the door waiting for him to come home. They are just wonderful.

Their love is unconditional isn't it? They give so much and expect so little in return! They should give out animal love on prescription instead of antidepressants its worked for me over the years!

neat trick!!!
If I could train mine to do that I could read at the same time, or get one to watch one channel and the other another.

Aww Sunny. It really does help to have something to get up and go on for. I'm so glad she helped your dad

Btw : I used to have the username Sunnydaze elsewhere. I always smile when I see your name

Edit : Reading that back I got a little confused thinking I'm talking to myself. Some of my FB friends still call me Sunny. I even get bday/xmas cards addressed to "sunny"

Oh good, I'm hoping yellowlabbie sees the funny side too. . I guess it's because I'm more a cat person myself that I didn't get it right away.

So sorry to hear this snickypoo. Glad DS helps.

I really like Phyllis Stein too - great username.

edited to add: I also have a gorgeous doggie; Cindy she came named - she's a rescue dog. Half pomeranian, half jack russell. She's gorgeous, and looks like a little fox when she pricks her ears up. She's only three now and it's my 11 year old daughter who's the apple of Cindy's eye. She literally dances every time she sees her.

That's too sweet One of my new kittens is like that. She's like my little shadow and hates it when I do go out. She doesn't only follow me to the loo but always wants up on my knee while I'm there
