Were any of these published? Remind me of a match report that started: Went the day well?

Absolutely true!

Remembered some other authors you might be interested in: Lesley Grant-Adamson, slim Faber volumes of finely crafted crime, and Susan Hill, whose recent cop Serrailler series is top drawer.

nurse was useless at getting blood too so i look like a second hand dartboard!!!
Mr H has to argue every time he gets any but his usual nurse taking blood; it's impossible to get it from his inner elbow or hand, but easy to get it from his outer elbow. They always think they know best!

it's so frustrating my gp does it every fortnight and never hurts me always gets it first go....i even pointed out the best vein!!! i once had an F1 try for 2 hours to fit a cannula: he was hopeless i was covered in massive bruises and looked like i'd been beaten up, eventually the ct department rang and asked where i was they inserted first go even though he had ruined all my veins

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is great!!!! i'm almost jealous you are reading it for the first time!! Neil Gaiman was very supportive of Susanna Clarke apparently

My visiting daughter is eyeing my bookshelves and making remarks along the lines of "My orange bookshelf has still got 18" to fill, so if I load the titles on your kindle, you won't really miss these, will you....?"

I have got a load of old green, crime, and purple, biography, as well as red, current affairs. Just not seen My Man Jeeves; it may have been retitled.
My copy of My Man Jeeves is from 1973. I can't remember where I got it, but all the page bottoms are serrated as if cut with pinking shears, and the first dozen or so are about an inch shorter than all the rest. It may well have been a reject that found its way to my shelves via my friend Barbara who's father worked for Allen Lane
