Wasn't there a film with green tomatoes in the title?

A two-part dramatisation of Wodehouse's Summer Lightning is on BBC iplayer; worth a listen and much better than the recent TV Blandings. A Dorothy Sayers has just started also.

Listened to the Green Tomatoes thing on an audio book a few years ago.

Think all the Wimsey radio ones are Ian Carmichael.

ooo that was interesting!

speaking of penguin books...
i was in The Puffin Club when i was young and loved getting my Puffin Post. i remember meeting Roald Dahl through the Puffin Club: terrifying from a distance but a delight once you got to speak to him. He was HUGE and sitting on a tiny child sized chair making him look even more like a giant!

I was in the Puffin Club, or at least that was what I called the Cross Country Club, out of puff after just a few yards!

Roald Dahl was a Cardiffian! Never met him though.

I am partial to chutney but do not have a clue how to make it!

Had the chance to go to Swansea and sit in a hospitality box but had to work. Looks like being the same when they are in Cardiff next month.

Keeping busy?

busy trying to get everything sorted ....and of course laying down the chutney stores is crucial at this time of year last year i blew it and it wasn't ready till february
i only started making it about 3 years ago but i made the fatal mistake of giving it to people and now it is expected!!!
the worst part is waiting the three months maturing time to try it!!!

oh no did the workyness spoil the pleasure of the victory?

Three months? Sounds like wine or beer!

The workyness did not spoil the pleasure at all, only the lousy radio reception on the way home which made the commentators sound like invaders from, er, another planet!

haahaa yes the life of a chutney maker is one of patience *sighs*

oh glad to hear you still enjoyed the win!

yeah extra planetary radio is soooo annoying luckily i have ensured extra boosted signals on my planet you can never be too careful still having issues with broadband speeds it's hard to get the speed out here...something to do with interplanetary interference or some such
