Brilliant thread! Some great tales and posts. Laughed all the way through.

I dont regret mine, but think it is a bit boring I suppose. I'd pondered for days as to what name to pick (I'd lurked and read for years and finally decided to join), wanted something which indicated I'm female (my actual name isnt Sarah) but not too daft. Anyway, I decided to get the registration done and sorted, and at the time I was eating a couple of slices of buttered malt loaf

Boring huh?

I now wish I'd chosen something clever like a planet name from Stargate SG1......... But I'm stuck with it so never mind

No, and I'm thankful, because he realistically ticks all the boxes for BBUS - scheming, intelligent, reasonably attractive, outspoken, super competative and short tempered. Perfect for the uncle that takes the kid hunting and fishing and camping, not so much for the "face of the family" on national tv

LOL!! I lived in mortal dread of my stepson going on BB a few years ago when he was younger. He kept threatening to apply and a couple of those years he used to ignore texts off me for a few days before BB started, just to have me pondering if he was "in hiding"

I watched the launch nights of BB8 and BB9 through my fingers expecting to drop my head into my hands and start weeping in silent horror at any moment.

Little git!

Kabira

Kabira refers to Saint Kabir , a great Indian poet famous for his Dohas(Couplets) - which in turn were characterised by raw wisdom and promotion of pragmatism.

Kabir sees the grinding stones as the duality that we live in. Heaven and earth, Good and Bad, Male and Female, High and Low – all around is duality. This play of opposites, this Chalti Chakki (moving mill) gets everyone, no one is save from in it’s powerful grip.

Also a song from from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

I was in a very thoughful mood when I joined.

Can I join in too if I bring the unsalted butter straight from the fridge for spreading on top of the malt loaf! Love it!

Mine is a mis-spelling of 'detour'. I saw someone on another forum had it and though it was quite clever so I nicked it It has no personal meaning to me at all which I like because it helps stay anonymous and I have no interest in changing it

I always find it silly when people sign up usernames to do with the current Big Brother like 'DexterToWin' and things like that, don't they realise by the time the next BB starts their name will be horribly out of date? It's even worse if Dexter doesn't actually win

What a brilliant thread. Why do the good threads always catch on when I am not around meaning I am relegated to page 4. ( I was only out for 2 hours!!!).

I have only read page 1 but agree with the OP. I do gt her user name but I find it a difficult one. I like to chat to some users; the ones I respond to a lot as if they were friends so tend to make a first and second name from the screen name. So I like Patsy (Limerick), Scarlett (both of them) Dave (the sensible - and sometimes quite delightfully silly).

I respond to you a lot Rancid and always have an ick moment when I do that i.e.- call you Rancid. It doesn't sound nice does it and you clearly are!!!

Mine is my second user name. I used to post then stopped for some years, forgot the name (it was dance related - my other passion and I do the SCD forums too) changed computers, lost track of the account - la la la. I deliberately chose a user name that could be made into a given name and family name. People sometimes assume I am an anthropologist - which is a lie! But do have two degrees in subjects related to social psychology so its good enough I think.

Will enjoy reading what people have written here.
