Don't do what I did in one of my first posts and screw it up on a big reveal.
Luckily I was able to get in and correct it before the death rays. New trousers, though

Thanks for the Cathy and Claire stuff. I am chuffed to know its on google. I am going for a girly night next weekend - sort of a perimenopausal sleepover (should be interesting).

I already have a David Cassidy CD in my bag along with pink fizz. Cathy and Claire problems will add a certain je ne sais pas to the evening.

Good God I wouldn't dare try. almost every post I send ( apart from in here) feels like taking my life in my hands. I am still feeling terrible about the - I'm too busy... thread. I feel if I hadn't put that stupid adverty thing on it it would still be open now.

I remember buying my first copy of fab 208, I bought two 'singles' on the same day which I think were 'Ride a White Swan' and 'Indian Reservation'

Where they out at the same time Dave or is my memory failing?

I don't think you can buy babycham any more. I will look tomorrow though. Its a fun idea. Twister is possible though. Will need NHS direct on speed dial though.

It's in Tesco's. Though it might not be the same as it was back in the day. Like the size of Curlywurlys ...........

Hungry Hippo's might be a safer alternative to Twister

Nice to see pitiful used in the proper old-fashioned way ...
I'd go for that. #

It's a bit contentious in the family as there's an attic and garage full to the brim with 40k+ comics, pretty well every NME, Melody Maker, Sounds and other music mags since 1968, and more records than I care to contemplate

When I moved from Brighton, the removal peeps came to do the quote when I wasn't in. Forgot the attic.
Come removal day, they had to provide another large van just for magazines and records, without charge!!!
On the last day, the man from Pickfords shook my hand and said sorrowfully 'don't bother contacting us again'

Morning Flighty. How are you today.

DM and Hazel are pissed. Limnic is taking us down memory lane. Dave is reading teenage girl comics while trying to get out of mowing the lawn. Fink's leg is improving. And I have learned to mulitpost. I think that summarises the morning.

Yep, I still hesitate often before posting then sit worrying afterwards. Not in the HL and WHATM threads though , although last night I sweated a bit over an inocuous Gary Glitter quip after everyone had jokingly skirted the subject for a long while. Nobody flinched openly.

Perhaps that's good thing - at least it means you're thinking.

Don't beat yourself up about it, they could have come in from any reason.
I still can't quite make my mind up about that closer post. I think it was in jest, and that if a smiley or frown had been put at the end, it woudn't have happened. However, I have a growing suspicion as to who may have shopped it (tending to mad)

Never mind - I've had an idea for a couple of similar things, which I'm trying to persuade someone else to start one of towards the end of the series.
It was clearly a well-liked thread - I noticed lots of people using 'offended' in their posts as a nod recently, and a good few who never posted there mentioned it afterwards.
Still, it's there as part of BB Forum legend now ...

Better than yesterday, that's for sure. Came home with a migraine and went straight to bed - haven't had one in years. Now I have BBUK and BBAUS to get caught up on, plus I see the live feeds are being uploaded again. Somewhere in there I should probably get to work on all those chapters I have to read by tomorrow, too

A flatmate of mine worked as a manager on a pier that had a serious fire in the 1970s. After the insurance peeps had been around and checked the bar stock, he was told that they didn't require the smoke damaged alcohol stock, and it could be disposed of as they pleased. After splitting everything, there were 6 crates of Babycham and the same of Cherry B left, so he had those as well.
One week later, no booze left and 4 very ill flatmates Lucky Carol wasn't about!

Fab 208 lasted until the mid-1970's I think. So the answer is yes.
'Ride a white swan' was 1970, and Don Fardon's 'Indian reservation' was 1970, I think. He was English, not American as eveyone thought, and the song was by John D Loudermilk, who was a fine songwriter, not associated with pop really.

EDIT - that's yes as in the same time. It's a probably as to the memory failure

I agree about the last post (quite apt now). I don't think she intended to be contentious - just a gag that didn't get worded quite right. But I can see how busy mods may have misconstrued the meaning.

That's why I am kicking myself i should have thought it through and not posted on a bank holiday when the forum is busy. It would have been much better this afternoon. Also doing it at the height of controversy was not smart although I did it partly to lighten the load. That went well.. I was also aware of a nark hanging about.

Pity though because I wasn't entirely done with that. I was going to add throwing babies out with bath water to the job description. However I did retrieve the thread and saved it to my favourites.
