That would be good .. I think
TBH I am not sure where 'chatter' is but am about to look.

Why Tiron. Is there a back story?
Chatter is a 'General Discussion' sub forum perched at the top similar to where BBs appreciation threads are.

I haven't been following this thread closely since the first few pages. I have glanced through from time to time and it now looks (to me though I might be wrong - probably are) that its now veered a bit off topic?

The Mario T-Shirt thread was started by a FM who thought the t-shirts Mario wore had some secret messages or something to that effect. Anyway, people started posting and to my understanding, it became more like a chatter thread amongst some FMs. Eventually, the mods moved it to 'Chatter'. I believe it's still there now or was last time I looked at that forum in general.

It certainly is not a bad thing if this was to eventually be moved to Chatter IMO.

Funny you should say that.
In my addiction, I've started wondering about what happens after this series. Sure there's 'Little Court' and stuff, but things lose impetus and fade, and I'm not sure I for one am ready for that therapy.

I've been wondering about whether this little island will become - hopefully - another 'Antarctica' or the other similar threads (I'm being cautious now - people may be gunning), happily floating through until the next tsunami with people safely closeted aboard like some Noah's Ark until they can burst forth and multiply (or whatever ), or - in the case of some of us - rush happily to the armoury and well-oiled and prepared machinery and test it live

Obviously that would be best (not the armoury bit ). However I've wondered about simply setting up elsewhere so we can survive until it happens. Problem is, I'm not familiar enough with the rest of the forums to even hazard a guess as to where or what the incoming might be as a result.

In the meantime, I'm a little tense as to survival, I must admit Might be because it's early series days and war is rife so any thread is a target.
I hope (and believe with a prayer and crossed fingers) that the mods appreciate what we are, and that we're never malicious (and sometimes on-topic ) and will treat us as the other long-surviving threads of like ilk (not elk, dangermoose *tuh*) and give us that little space we ask to tend and nurture. We'll look after it, it just might be a funny colour and a bit wonky.

One way or another, I'm sure we'll do it - ragged, battered, smelling of cheese and old memories ....

Ah found the switch!
*back to 'sensible'
Sorry
I love your sense of humour Dave. Your posts make me laugh out loud a lot of times. Great to read posts like yours,
An Thropologist and some others. I may not always quote your posts but then I generally prefer to read than post. (Except when my fave is under attack and I feel I must come out to defend).

Anyway, back to my little post, as explained to An above, the reason I said what I said was that I've noticed this thread is perhaps veering off the original topic.

Obviously it's up to the mods to decide about thread locations and stuff.

It's now neatly 100 pages long and could acquire a Part 2 if all your lovely discussions carries on.

A quick glance through earlier just reminded me of the Mario thread hence my comment.

Wherever this thread goes though I suspect it would still be a riot (of the good kind!)

I hear you Dave. I had thought that the thread would naturally fizzle out in time if it didn't get pulled. Each day i am amazed it is still here.
Me too But I'm hopeful in mod humanity

Oh good god. it's not only WW3 out here (I typed WW£ by accident by not pressing cntrl - which is a lovely error), with two pneumatic drills (no, not Courtney and Co), but the ice cream van has just gone by with a 'I do like to be beside the seaside' chime.

I'm in the middle of the country FFS!!!!!

EDIT - and they're out of Magnums

Considering how much the prices on the ice cream truck have gone over the past 10 years or so, I can only imagine what they'd charge for a Magnum. It's $3 just for the crappy fake Mickey Mouse bars these days.

I actually have a high regard for the mods on this site. By far the best I have seen.

Remember the "are you alright" afternoon? I was out and came home to find the front page full of ...Is xxx alright... threads. It was weird and pretty funny once I had figured it out. But I was impressed that the mods let this run for a time and then swept in to clear it all out in the evening. It showed good sense in my book to allow a bit of silly steam to be worked off.

They are also pretty quick to deal with the very nasty threads - the ones that start nastily. A couple of times over the weekend I have gone to try to post something reasonable to hopefully calm things down and decided that by the time I had thought through a moderating post the thread would be gone. I was right, they went pretty fast and rightly so.

On the other hand it is a shame when a good debate has been going on and a few tasteless comments cause it to be pulled. Its a shame for all the posters who have made the effort to enter into a proper debate only to have their work binned. Its a bit like at school where the misbehaviour of one leads to the whole class being punished. It can't be helped though.

(I'm sorry - I had to laugh - it's not just a Prisoner ref but a dangermoose explosion on a plate)

BTW - bad planets for not Mad Max quote catching for the second time. I'll do it again until you do
and don't bother asking where in WHATM it was, it could have been 2019 for all I knew

Sorry
That BIB... that's why I'm laying low from it for now. I think it serves a wonderful purpose thanks to the contributors - and I think there's less, um, available ammunition, if the creator () shushes up. Love this thread, and not because I started it - I love it because it has become a little 'chillax' zone within the BB pages, to leave the differences at the door and share a little lurve, cake and cheese

It's great for getting to know the people we're conversing with, and thus extending a tad more respect than we might otherwise.

On which note, I'll just ask any lurkers again to come forth with their username stories - BB related like mine or not (does anyone see the sense in my silly play on words....? ) Much love peeps.

I am hoping that they have had a look and decided we are a bunch of harmless old buffers..

you are joking - I suspect that military forces around the world are currently studying, going WTF!, and re-working their emergency plans in case we go rogue

Find 'Plaistow Patricia' by Ian Dury (it's on the first album - 'New Boots and Panties') for further options nicely enunciated - just before the track proper begins
Sorry for one of the options
ABFC&P

Dave, is your lawnmower a cut above the rest?

Linmic, if you think Dave is as daft as a brush, I take it you will not be trying to sweep him off his feet!

Welcome soap, continuing the cake theme I see.

And Tiron, if the thread does sometimes veer off course, it should always have a place as somewhere to rest in between battles - and remember that life should be fun.

I have not tried multi posting, not least because I am using a free wi-fi service in Reading services and it has a habit of conking out! Never made it to Guildford: a huge jam outside Bagshot - where is 85, has some questions to answer? - and gave up after doing little more than a mile in 80 minutes.

That last line reminds me when I went back to college as a mature student and some other students were mucking around and the lecturer made us all sit at the front and I was 43 years old.

I know there are general threads outside of the BB forum but I don't know why there cant be a general thread within it. I mean for where to go if you aren't particularly supporting any housemate or you want to discuss issues on how to get LF or get a little info on one of the housemates without making a whole thread about it. We will serve coffee and cakes and JD for Dave and pass on a little information/fun in order for FM's to recharge their batteries and go once more into the breach.

So long as at some point BB is discussed in whatever shape of form during the day it surely would cause no offence.

On the other hand we could talk about Magnums and books and Jackie and gin.

But where do I go if this thread closes Can we make a master plan?

I saw that thread a while ago. There's a John and Josie too isn't there? That's what kicked the thought off ...

I love your sense of humour Dave
always for which I give genuine thanks and is much appreciated.

Anyway, back to my little post, as explained to An above, the reason I said what I said was that I've noticed this thread is perhaps veering off the original topic.
*best John Cleese voice* veering off? *veering off?* - it's now worked out quantum theory and is capable of being on and off topic at the same time, without wildebeests sweeping majestically over the plains!!!!!
Seriously though, we've also explained very nicely how to do lots of tricks with posting to people who have been around for ages and other stuff.

Obviously it's up to the mods to decide about thread locations and stuff.
It's now neatly 100 pages long and could acquire a Part 2 if all your lovely discussions carries on.
A quick glance through earlier just reminded me of the Mario thread hence my comment.
Somehow I get the faint fragrance of very experienced giving a guiding hand, or perhaps serendipity.
Whatever, it smells good.

Wherever this thread goes though I suspect it would still be a riot (of the good kind!)
and that ladies and gentlemen (and dangermoose) is where we came in !!!!

Hah! you and your Mickey Mouse prices!!!
A Magnum is about £1.99 for three, if you don't care that it's a Magnum, just not in a labelled package.
Tuh. And I always lived so cheap in Florida

BTW - Carol, Louie, Danielle. Out or drunk. (there - on topic )

Absolutely.
I feel very sorry for them, especially at pressure times like Friday or a Ron-poo.
And I.'ve been on boards down the years *creak* where this amount of tolerance would have been unheard of (actually, weirdly, that should be 'unseen')

I've been a little out of the loop, what happened rancid? I hope it's nothing to do with that thread the other day about Absz (?).....I don't think you (or anyone) should feel like they have to lay low. Hope you're alright.

Oh yes. Even if I have to kidnap Ryan O'Leary and use his planes for sky messages.
We'd get a lot of support
