Advice needed about a Westie

I really hope someone can help. We have a rescue Westie who is about 8-10 years old. He has always been really healthy if a little overweight at times (we have had him since he was 2-4). Three months ago he began weeing and being sick. It was really unusual because he was wetting in the house which he has never done. We took him to the vet and they did lots of tests because they thought he might have cancer Fortunately these tests came back clear so they gave him antibiotics for a kidney infection and he seemed to improve. However he is losing weight rapidly. As I mentioned before he was never skinny before but people are now commenting on his weight loss. Recently he has begun to sick up food he has eaten (about 1 hour after eating). My daughter is a doctor and has today been here when this has happened. She says it looks as if he has a blockage as the food looks not to be going through a digestion process.

I went to the vets and again they have taken blood samples. I am really worried. Does anyone have any experience of this?

sorry no advice on what your westie is going through, but take him back to vets and voice your concerns, tell them everything, really hope you get it sorted .

My first thought on your description was a blockage too, is the food Undigested? I'd be getting back down and telling them you want an X-ray /other tests to confirm.

We had a westie who had quite similar symptoms and it turned out he was diabetic....he needed injections and lasted for about two years after diagnosis. I don't intend to worry you just putting it out there but I'm sure your vet has discounted that
