He would certainly make an impact and he fits the CBB profile being as he found fame on a talent show, how ironic given the state of TV today

Wasn't he supposed to have went in...
I'd love to see him as a housemate...I think he'd be great.

Jim Davidson would be great. I'm guessing he'd start off calm and collected but the mixture of ages, races and sexual preferences would send him into a series of rants. Plus, he would be very funny in the DR.

Yes, he was meant to go in the house in January but was arrested the day before (over false allegations of sexual abuse). All the more reason to get him in there this time around!

He has been cleared of all allegations.
I think he'd be a great housemate....only thing that might go against him is previous bad press and the fact that he's very non political correct..
I like him....I met him years ago...me and my hubby got talking to him in Bournemouth at a fireworks display off the pier.
He was on his own and i looked to the side of me and he was standing next to me.
Me being me i spoke to him and he ended up coming with us for a drink in one of the many pierside bars.
He was great company.
I hope he DOES into the house and does well.

It has just been on Daybreak that Jim Davidson will be back on stage tonight at the Princess Theatre in Torquay, so doesn't look like he'll be in this series of CBB.

Thanks for the info, I suppose we can still hope for a late appearance

I doubt it as he's on Tour now according to his website.

There's no question he'd be 'entertaining' but that depends on whether I'm entertained by hating someone's guts. And I'm not.

He's a spectacularly unpleasant man with primitive views, as proven time and time again in many arenas and by many people. A vicious dinosaur of a by-gone age who shouldn't be validated with airtime.

That said, he'd probably be the first out, which is a small consolation.

He's not "politically non-correct", he behaves like a total bigot. Politically correct is too often used as a slur against the overly-sensitive when the idea behind it is that we're respectful and considerate of all others.

I grew up with his 'humour', the appalling impressions of black men, the jokes against minority groups...and his treatment of Brian Dowling on Hell's Kitchen proved he's just as intolerant of homosexuality. Not to mention countless women with stories of his sexist behaviour.

He might be OK to have a pint with but let's not pretend his views are a mere lack of 'political correctness'. That does a huge disservice to people who deserve not to be ridiculed or belittled by him on the grounds of their skin colour, sexuality or gender.

I'm the same. I think he could be quite good value as a HM (for better or for worse).

: @lux, great name.

Poll so far:
44.75% for
55.25% against

Just goes to show how split opinion can be. I was expecting a resounding "No" on the basis that I assumed the majority of forum users would be younger.

I think oldies like me can see some mileage in JD going in the house but alas I don't think it will be happen. Shame we're going to have to put up with no mark Americans (again) and so called reality TV "stars" who haven't done an honest days work in their life

From BB's point of view it seems like a strange move to me, last time and this time.

Given his previous, they'd probably end up slinging him out the moment he stepped over their line, which would probably be very quickly. And there's always the chance someone else will walk and/or refuse to go in there if he does.

Oh and, if being 50 makes me an oldie, then I certainly don't see the value of him going in there.

Who says that the arrest was 'wrongful' and that the allegations were 'false'?

He's not going to face the charges (although he may still face one in the Falklands), but we should be very careful not to accuse those ten women of making false allegations, or the police of making wrongful arrests, just because the evidence wasn't strong enough to secure a conviction.

I'm of a similar age Wazzyboyand I'm just tired of the type if people deemed to be celebrities. The older HM's are far more entertaining despite their beliefs/attitude.

Imagine if Bernard Manning was still alive! Lol

Oh I agree with you there Lux, apart from the BM suggestion.

Older, wiser, smarter and funnier by all means, but nobody of any age who's got a pre-set negative attitude about other people.

The law is the law and not facing further charges would indicate he's innocent of any criminal wrongdoing.

We won't be seeing him the house so the subject can drop in a few days
