Can't get rid of fleas

This has been going on since we had the big heatwave in july. My dogs have frontline on them but still picked up fleas and a huge infestation broke out on one of the dogs. Bathed them with flea shampoo applied frontline again still had fleas but not as many.
This is what i have done so far and last night they still had eggs on them and found about 4 fleas : -
Stink bombed house twice every room
vacumned everyday and emptied container
washed bedding about 10 times on hot wash
brought spray to spray every where
bathed dogs about 6 times now
applied frontline again
gave them tablets to kill fleas
powedered all the carpets

and yet they still have them now, what can i do to get rid of them?

Frontline does not work. Take your dogs to the vets and get Advocate and some Indorex.

Same with cat fleas, you need the vet treatment in my experience. You never get shut otherwise.
PS, Nothing more embarrasing than watching a flea leap off your foot in work!

Indorex for the house apply as instructed and leave it to work, and consult vet for Advocate or whatever they advise in your area. Over the counter treatments do not work.

I had this problem 2yrs ago, my jr was riddled in fleas, we used to spend ages picking them off him, we used to use frontline on him, obviously, didn't work, we use use advantix now, touch wood, no fleas

My dog has a garlic capsual in his food. Well it's pushed into a small piece of cheese. Seems to work as he is flea free (fingers crossed) at the moment. The garlic is meant to taste bad when a flea bites.

We gave up on Frontline. We still use the house spray and wash bedding every other day. Not convinced the flea shampoo works but tea tree oil is a natural repellant so try a TT shampoo, even a few neat drops on neck is good, although our dog hated it.

Yep, frontline no longer works I'm afraid,I won't sell it in the vets I work at. Only one that's any good is advocate and indorex or RIP spray for the house.

I agree that Frontline no longer works. I use Advocte now for my dog and it does seem to work. Sadly - my rescue cat is so traumatised that I still Frontline him - instead of having to take him to the vet.

In the end - if you have a pristine house and the very worst - exposed floorboards - there is only one answer. The local council who arrives in a discreet van, sprays and then leaves you flea free. I had it last year and really - nothing else works and it is half hour solution. Costs £50 to £60 -but if anything remains, they come back for free.

Frontline is uselss. Our cats have special collars now that cost £35 each!!

I nearly had a heart attack but then against the cost of the sprays and tablets and fumigators it's actually much more cost effective.

We were riddled with them; it was just awful. I think it's because we have a lot of hedgehogs

I still hallucinate fleas all over the place even a year later!

Why can't you use advocate on the cat at home? They don't need to go to the vets?

Sorry to any vets but don't buy any of the mentioned products from them. Google them and buy them online. Far cheaper. I can buy two cans of Indorex from an online shop for the price the vets charges for one.

I use Diatomaceous earth. Make sure it's the food grade stuff though.

It's natural, really cheap and completely harmless to pets, but to fleas it's like broken glass. It cuts them open and then dries them out, killing them within a few hours to a day or so.

A teaspoon's worth rubbed into my cats fur every couple of days for a couple of weeks rids her of all fleas.

My dogs get it daily in their food (for worming), did not have the need to use for flees yet.

switch to Advantage over frontline, so long as you know his weight, you can buy it OTC or online from somewhere like viovet, medicanimal or vet uk

OP - frontline is the problem here, it's ineffective. a friend has the same trouble, she switched to advantage on my advice and managed to eradicate her flea problem very quickly afterwards and there have been no re-infestations
she used flea traps, indorex, regular hoovering and steam cleaning.

Advantage works just as well as Advocate (the exact same thing, same strength) the only difference is that Advantage doesn't worm your pet at the same time.

which, personally, i prefer. worming every month is overkill in my view.
a quarterly tablet treatment is perfectly adequate prophylaxis for worms.
