I have been using Lovefilm Instant for ages on my old XP PC with no problems.

I have just purchases brand new Windows 8 PC and am unable to get lovefilm instant to work.

Initially it requested that I install Silverlight which I have done. Now when tying to watch something I get a very long error message starting with System.BadImageFormtaException: Error 0x1A88.

Anyone have any ideas?

What browser are you using on your Windows 8 PC?

Make sure you are using the IE on the desktop not "metro" IE.

Have you rebooted the PC since installing silverlight?

I have reboored since installing Sliverlight.

I have tried this on Chrome (which is my normal browser) but also go it on IE. I forgot to mention in my original post that I also did have to swtich Chrome to desktop mode before I could attempt to use Lovefilm Instant.

Thanks for your help TheBigM but i have now resolved it.

I went to this Microsoft Website - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2608523#fixitforme abd clicked on Fix this problem.

Ad it did fix it. Lovefilm instant now works.

the above advice was on the Lovefilm website and I just failed to read it first time.
