All the information you need for the upcoming PS4 launch. To discuss your PS4 pre-order, the games and accessories your getting, PSN ID's and the day that you get your hands on it.

PlayStation 4 will launch in the UK on 29th November at 349.99.

The DualShock 4 has several new features:
A built-in two-point capacitative touch pad on the front of the controller, which is clickable. Supports motion detection via a three-axis gyroscope and three-axis accelerometer and improved vibration. The joysticks and triggers have been redesigned based on developer input. The joysticks now will feature a concave surface and the D-Pad is akin to the Vita's.

A light bar that can display different colours. The colours will help identify players and alert them with critical messages such as low health. It also will interact with a camera attachment that perceives movement and depth by using the controller's light bar - PlayStation Move controllers are also supported

Two new buttons: Share, allowing the user to stream live gameplay to Twitch, upload screenshots to Twitter, and upload up to 15 minutes of gameplay to social networking sites. Options button merges Start and Select.
The PlayStation Camera is a separate purchase for 54.99 is a motion sensing input device to take use of the DS4 lightbar and PlayStation Move controller. A mini-game The Playroom shows of this technology and is pre-installed in every PS4.

The PlayStation Vita will become a companion device allowing users to stream PS4 games via Remote Play.

The PlayStation 4 will replace the XMB with a new customisable interface titled PlayStation Dynamic Menu. See it in action with Yoshia at Gamescom. Link

PlayStation Plus is needed to access multiplayer content on the PS4 and is available for 39.99 (discounts can be found) each console comes with a 14 day membership. Online services such as Netflix and the Share button streaming/uploading is not pay-walled. Instant Game Collection is also on the PS4 giving subscribers full games as part of their subscription each month. The first month includes DRIVECLUB PS+ Edition and PSN game Resogun.

Launch line-up: 33 games in 2013 from Sony's World Wide Studios and 3rd Parties. Available at Retail, Digital Download and Free2Play. Link

An upgrade system which is a limited time offer allowing games bought on PlayStation 3 to upgrade to the PS4 version for a significantly lower price. Sony have partnered with EA, Activision, Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Upgrade prices are dependant on publisher but CoD: Ghost is confirmed to be 10 for the PS4 upgrade.

2013 and Beyond.

Gaikai: A cloud-based gaming service giving owners access to a limited library of PS3 games. Details are scarce but we should know more as we come into 2014.

First Party Games: inFAMOUS: Second Son, The Order 1886, Helldivers, RIME, Shadow of The Beast, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, PlanetSide 2 and maybe The Last Guardian...

My PSN ID is Anth1888, feel free to add it.

I think Sony should allow you to change your ID for a fee, I wonder if any has answered this question directly since the reveal.

I hope GAME announce the cost of their exclusive DRIVRCLUB and Killzone bundle. Hope its not too expensive. Might wait and see if they have any other bundles.

I'm certain the RRP for the camera was 45 when it was announced, although several retailers do have it at 55.

Placeholders?
Mistakes?
Sneaky increase?

I seen it on Sony's press release for 45, but every retailer has it at 55 so I just put that! Not sure what's going on with the camera pricing, might get one down the line when they are sub 30.

Mine is on pre-order with Sainsburys (confirmed for release day delivery) with a copy of BF4. Will be signing up to Plus on the day.

Trying to get Hitman Absolution completed and buy The last of us before GTA V comes out.

So in some ways I am glad the PS4 release date is as late as it is.

I was the same. I'm glad it's not October so I wont rush GTA V. I'm not selling my PS3 but as soon as the PS4 is out I know i'll relegate it and GTA V for the new games. I will probably double dip if there is a next-gen version next year.

You keeping the PS3 then, first person I have heard say this so many of my mates have said they are selling theirs and I just think with the lack of backward compatibility then you might as well keep hold of it for a while. I suppose this is the curse of keeping hold of games, they become unusable when the next gen arrives

I'm keeping mine. I'll use it as a media device for the blu-ray player, netlfix and on-demand for my bedroom. I think I'll still play GTA V after the PS4 launch. PS+ will still give me PS3 games in my subscription so I might pick up some of those!

Why are new games seen as being automatically better than the PS3 ones, technically maybe but may not actually be as good, I have exactly the inverse view I prefer playing trusted classics.

The PS4 not playing PS3 games in the drive is a massive negative to me, I mean GTA V is going to be feel new and fresh for ages after its release if its anything like the hype that has been built up so far, most of the PS4 games I've seen are only about as exciting as the average PS3 release.

I went out my way to get a PS3 60 GB so I could still play PS2 disc games.

Think the best time to see a ps3 is now, when every game player does the same round Nov, the trade in price will drop, or they wont take them

Iscoed1815 is my PSN ID. I was going to sell my PS3, well actually give it to a friend, but after subbing to PSN+ have decided to keep for a while, enjoying the 'Instant Games Collection" and currently working through the 3 'Infamous's"

They should port GTA V to PS4 seeing as the new console will not be playing PS3 games natively.

Does anyone know how I find out about upgrading PS3 games to PS4? I am getting AC4 and Watch Dogs on PS3 as I don't know when my PS4 will come, but if it's soon after I would like to upgrade.
Also is there any info out there about the room size needed for the camera, and are any games making use of it?

I hope SCEE UK get their act together and announce the official PS4 bundles. It does seem that the EU bundle (if it's coming to the UK) will be a great price.

The bundle features: The console, Killzone: Shadow Fall, a second DualShock 4 controller and the PlayStation Camera for 499, which equates to around 430 the same price as an Xbox One.

Boxart is really slick as well.

So people who have pre-ordered well in advance lose out really, because that's a great saving

Confirmed that if you upgrade the PS+ Edition of DRIVECLUB you get the full digital game which is not tied to PS+ I.e. the game is yours to keep even if your subscription runs out. I know there was a lot of confusion over this.

Upgrade price won't be announced for a few weeks yet.
