Emmerdale. 27th Jan
I got the impression that evil Steph has actually come to terms with the fact that she is not a very nice person. Genuine repentance would be most welcome.
Gormless Ethan is becoming a bit irritating. I know that Christians are encouraged to visit people in prison but he must have other things to do. Bob is a great character and a great asset to the programme. He deserves formal recognition at the soap awards

I think Steph always knew she wasn't a nice person, but for the most part doesn't care much. Maybe she IS mellowing a bit and realizing what she did was wrong (well not wrong for us, but you know
), however this appears to be down to genuine confusion on her part - a wrong confession to murder after all. I think once she finds out the truth she'll be relieved at first, then furious, and good old evil Steph will be back in full force. And personally I wouldn't want it any other way! ![]() I think Emmerdale have found too good a formula in female villains with both Sadie King and Steph Stokes, to get rid of any of them - both vastly different, but I want the two of them being utter nasty bitches in this show for a good few years at least. Couple this with Matthew King's ruthless, vicious streak coming out this year and we surely can't go wrong! |

A baddie can go too long without being caught, so that it just becomes exceptionally boring and irritating (e.g. Jim Fenner in Bad Girls) - and part of the fun of watching a baddie being bad is looking forward to their comeuppance!

Totally agree but it's Chloe's comeuppance I am looking forward to. Firstly to see that simpering smile wiped off her face and secondly so Karl no longer has that deer caught in the headlights look on his face.

I liked the episode and can now see why Emmerdale is maintaining an audience of 10 million viewers. The best one was the other night though when Chas said to Chloe who let the dogs out?

I think it depends on the baddie when it comes to getting their comeuppance - I mean what about Kim Tate? She carried on for years and no one ever wanted her to leave. Steph has been a bit more destructive in a shorter space of time, but even so, she could potentially be in the show for years doing occasional big things like this storyline. If they do it all the time then obviously she'll have to leave, but I think they'll be wise enough not to.
Jim Fener got away with ENDLESS vile crimes in every single series so that was tedious yeah. |

I don't like Viv anymore and think she's passed her sell by date.

Nah I disagree she's great, she's the village gossip and as the proprieter of the cafe and post-office very central to everyone and everything. She says out loud what all (both viewer and villager) are thinking.

But she's been in it for god knows how many years and that's all she does PamelaL, gossip and run round the village taking those silly little steps and I detest the clothes she wears but it's Viv so she wouldn't get away with anything else.

LOL, she just irritates me and now she's letting her chance of happiness with Bob go down the pan too.

Viv was very funny in Wednesdays episode when Betty was giving out to Ethan about getting Alans hopes up on the phone calls.
Ethan said something about it could be Shelly trying to get in touch and Viv said. 'You'd need an ouiji board for that' |

LOL Viv has some great lines.
Sadie was good when she said about the Dingles: "That lot need a seperate bar of their own with sawdust on the floor and screwed down furniture" |
