Having an issue with Feel at Home when visiting Ireland. It doesn't work, yet I've been on a one-month rolling contract for almost three months now. It's Ultimate Internet 200 thing and I've expected Feel at Home to work by now.

You need to actually activate international roaming I think.

Used it in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago. No problems with calls or texts but it took over an hour to download a BBC podcast that would take a minute or so in the UK.

Correct - I was the same. Rang customer services on 333 and had it activated in a couple of hours.

If GSMArena is to be believed the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 have exactly the same band support, LTE excepted. They are both penta-band.

On contract certainly. People joining Three for the free roaming will almost certainly be made to wait 60 days before being able to apply for the roaming bar to be lifted (no matter the outcome of any initial credit check). Obviously if you have an account already, it might be lifted immediately.

However PAYG users can roam from day one, and if you add a £15 AYCE add on then you're all set straight away.

Thanks. I think I'm getting confused with GSM and WCDMA bands.

Three said if I ported my number over they would allow roaming straight away. They did it on the same call when I gave them my PAC.

I did have one problem. The my3 website had a "Edit internet access settings" option. I clicked it and it barred all data from my phone. Three kept saying it was my phone that was at fault so after a few different agents I finally found one who managed to activate data on my account again.

Going to France next year and am hoping to get
a tablet that will take my 3 sim.

Is France likely to appear or will some just not make
it onto the list?

I'm Austria right now. Just did some speedtest, here are some results that you may be interested in.

The speed had been pretty decent before I got this

http://botu.me/uploads/2013/12/IMG_0790.jpg

Since this point, all speed tests resulted in frustrating bad ones, the Internet was almost unusable.

I found that if I switch to 3 AT, the speed will be constant at 1-2Mbps or so.

PS: Don't know whether this is a bug or not, but I can tether my laptop

Whilst Three say you can't tether on feel at home, I wonder if they really mean that you may get charged if they detect it?

I hope so, otherwise people will cheat and use loads of data and ruin it for everyone else as it won't be viable.

Charge them I say.

I agree. It always feels like the Three web site is written by someone with a poor understanding of English though, they should make things a lot clearer.

Like this...
Quote:
“If your plan or Add-on includes all-you-can-eat data, unlimited texts or more than 3000 minutes, when using Feel At Home you’ll only be able to use 25GB of data, 5000 texts to the UK or 3000 minutes of calls to the UK in any one month. We reserve the right to suspend our service if you exceed any of these limits for more than any two months within a twelve month period.”

If you can only use 25GB of data a month, how can you ever exceed it twice in twelve months?

Also, should they suspend your service or their service?

Imagine that.. Some cheeky lad exceeds the limit twice.. Three go off in a huff and suspend the whole 3G & 4G service for everyone. 😝

I'm so cancelling my 3 contract if that happens.

According to their 4G launch logic, they probably might suspend the service gradually, so 3000 customers in the first month, and will accelerate their suspension to all their customers in coming months.

Oh, and their CEO could also accuse EE of their slow cancellation.

They are saying (i think) that you will not be cut off for a first offence, but if you did it twice in a year they might. However they do not say if you will be charged to the excess. Probably not,but they might throttle you back?

Although not unlimited 25 GB is pretty good unless you download or stream a lot.
I use the like home when in Denmark. It is easier to exceed my call limit of 300 mins mistake . Then costs do climb. So I tend to us Skype audio only as much as possible. I have never got close to 25 GB this way.

Just had a lovely cold weekend in NYC. Feel At Home worked very well. Speeds on T-Mobile and ATT were fine for general browsing, maps, location based chat apps, etc. A speedtest showed 12Mbps download speed on T-Mobile.

I asked if Spain (for Barcelona and MWC) was going to be added in time for the end of February and told a very clear no!

Hi, quick question. If I'm in the USA with my Three The One Plan SIM and I try and call a UK number that's currently in the USA too (on Vodafone UK) will it come out of my inclusive minutes or will I be charged? I know it'll charge the other as they're 'roaming' and not on Three but will I be charged?

Thank you!
qasdfdsaq

Inclusive.

The cost you pay for a call doesn't ever change regardless of where the target handset is.

The only things that ever matter are where you are making the call from, and the type of number you are calling.

Really?? That's amazing. The Three site says "If you have Three-to-Three minutes, you’ll also be able to use these to call someone else on Three either in the UK or in the same Feel At Home destination as you." so didn't know if because they were on Vodafone i'd be charged.
