ARE you a Bond girl?
Or are you a nobody?

Actually, I bet before any Strictly rumours started a month ago, if you had asked 100 DS posters who they had heard of Terry or Fiona Fullerton, Terry would have scored more.

I don't how she is less of a celeb than Richard Arnold or Russell Grant. I suppose it depends on what type of interests you have.......
Her casting is pretty similar to Pamela Stephenson imo. She definitely isn't as badly known as you think.

Yeah that's very logical!

This made me chuckle.

Terry's probably one of the most recognised forum members. In terms of SCD anyway.

My problem with FF is that she really hasn't done anything of note apart from playing the lead in Alice in Wonderland in 1973 (I got dragged to the cinema to see the film for a school trip so I remember it well), one series of Angels, and a bit-part in a not-so-good Bond film.

Her contemporaries were actresses like Sue Holderness - who went on to be Marlene in OFAH, Pauline Quirke, Julie Dawn Cole (Verucca Salt in the '70's Willie Wonka movie) all of whom are better known and have not retired to run property companies.

I'm wondering if she is related (or maybe Godmother) to one of the producers

Fiona Fullerton is a real person.

I'm not sure that Terry is.

I would love to be a Bond Girl like Fiona, if only I had the equipment.

I knew Fiona from the hot tub scene in A View To A Kill and other people on my Twitter timeline also remembered her from things like Alice In Wonderland and the film Nicholas and Alexandra. Conversely many were asking "who?" when Abbey Clancy's name was announced - but I expect a lot of youngsters would know instantly who she was.

Depends on things like age, interests....lots of factors. But I think Fiona absolutely qualifies as a 'celebrity'.

That's very interesting Sid, thank you, it would be hard to argue that Fiona does not qualify as a celebrity.

Sofakat loves dance but is now forced to watch SCD on FF because she has to cut the waffle, the dreadful vids and Brucie out so she can watch dance and not drivel.

She has not watched DWTS for 2 years because it is no longer shown in the UK. Duh.

And little jake - thanks you SO much for reminding me to put you on Ignore this year. File under drivel.

The problem of having a cast comprised of non-'A'- listers is that it's inevitable that you'll have 'celebs' who are known to some and not others. I don't watch any of the soaps or the One show or daytime TV shows so I'm non the wiser about celebs from this background. I'm not much interested in sport either so a famous cricketer or footballer won't be famous to me. I just go by whether I recognise the face of the celeb when I see them (without knowing their name).

I prefer the pros anyway lol - for me Strictly is about who they end up getting landed with and wheter it looks like their partner might have some potential or is destined to be a comedy act

Perhaps the show will be fantastic this year because, if the celebs aren't as well known, the focus will be more on the actual dancing ?

Well, I've never forgotten her since the "bubbles tickled her Tchaikovsky" in the hot tub with old Rog in A View To A Kill. And I'm gay...

Goodness, that's a lot of toys hurled out of the pram. Did we all duck?

And referring to oneself in the third person? Oh dear...

Loads of potential gooduns must be ruled out firstly by full diaries, impractical schedules/locations and/or other forms of self non selection.

Me, I don't mind if I ain't heard of 'em, no doubt someone will have. I just want them to give it a proper go.

Direct answer to O.P. - Yes.

Trawling through other members posts must be quite tedious but I suppose, if you have nothing better for doing....:rolleyes

Back to the theme of this thread, the female line up is well known but the male line up is disappointing. However, I recognised some when I saw their photos but didn't know their names so I think people will recognise them when they see them

Most definitely yes. It's almost as bad as the Ricky Whittle/Ali Bastion/Craig Kelly/Chris Hollins year.

There are enough celebs around, but maybe there is a smaller number to pick from for these types of shows (or more, if you think that there are lots of z celebs looking to reignite their dwindling career which I guess in the fast world of showbiz can be hard to keep a grip on). Eitherway, Strictly won't always be able to get a stellar lineup like we enjoyed the year Alesha, Kara or Harry won. I'm sure other years had a good cast too but off the top of my head I can't remember them.
