I really like Jill Halfpenny's suggestion. That, more pro dances and back-to-basics VTs concentrating on the dance training instead of trying (and failing) to be funny or clever would be my main requests. Oh, and cut down the props and other gimmicks by allowing them only in the Charleston, the theme nights like Halloween and the showdance at the very most.

- Stop the unfunny VTs, training is all we need to see

- Change the intro, put more effort in it like the old DWTS intros on top of the buildings, comparing them to ours is like comparing DaVinci to my 6 year old cousin's painting of a house

- Have a man replace Brucie when he goes to sleep, Tess & Claudia together just looks odd & wrong

I'm a little bit worried that with the biggest shake-up for years, the show may lose some of its familiarity. I know we had something similar before Series 8, which was successful. But then we had 3 new pros, not 5 like this year.

So what do you all think?”

Familiarity is ok until the older pros can't keep up or allow their own dancing to stagnate by focussing soley on their celebs. Yesterday is comfortable, tomorrow can be more exciting. Glad to see another home grown pro in the line up anyway. There's not many about and Kevin's got tremendous pedigree.

One suggestion I was thinking of is the possible introduction of half marks - they tried this on the All-Stars series of Dancing With The Stars in the US last year and I really liked it!! When I watch a dance, I always give my own score and sometimes there are the dances where, for example, a score of 8 would be undermarking it but a score of 9 would be overmarking it...

I'm sure many people will disagree with me of course!!

Yes - and a 'percentage' scale would allow for even more detailed marking and clearer variation.

If you use the full 1-10 scale like Craig does, you don't need half marks.

The judges don't mark above 8 for the first few weeks of the series and using halves would differentiate between very close contestants.

A sensible idea.

They have about 14 celebs and are supposed to place them in order of how good they are. Its a lot easier to do that with numbers between 1 and 10 than with numbers between 4 and 8.

They could give them 10 in week one for being the best that week and give them 10 in the final for being the best that week, but 10's would no longer be for 'perfection' (which they never were anyway).

Now that Alesha has gone, 10's are sweeties that are handed out near the end of the show to be part of the flourish of the show ending.

Also, how can the judges mark the first couple when they haven't seen any of the others? There is no standard to compare to or contrast with. Why not see all the pairs dance and then grade them?

Look - if you're going to bring logic and common sense into it - you'll only confuse the producer.

For the judges to mark properly without showing favouritism and ignoring mistakes thus more consistent marking. To let the judges have more airtime as well.

Another thread on the ITV Stepping Out abomination, is stating Dave Arch is listed as musical director.

Is this true? or all-change at Strictly ??

My suggestions would be:

1. Gag Bruce!
2. Put Bruno in a straightjacket.
3. Get rid of Claudia (she does my head in!)
4. Disclose Viewers' votes

1. No more VT's with people just grunting or saying 'yeah'. Even the lame comedy is better than that.
2. An interpreter for Bruce. I find it increasingly difficult to understand what he's saying. (This may be a good thing.)
3. Stop bothering with Blackpool and Wembley. They don't add anything to the show.
4. Get better guest singers. It's embarrassing when the band singers are better than they are.
5. Get a grip on how to end the final properly so it doesn't just fizzle out.
6. Stop Pasha doing any more showdances to Beyoncé. (Although, if he gets Vanessa this is not likely to apply anyway.)
