Yes, I do think it is surely common sense for McGinn to keep a lower profile. If he can't help publicly jumping about when Celtic score, don't go.

It is quite inappropriate when Aberdeen and Celtic are top of the league and puts unnecessary pressure on himself. I don't doubt his professionalism whilst playing and that he will do his best for Aberdeen, but what if he misses an open goal to put Aberdeen ahead in a pivotal match against Celtic near the end of the season ? Let's say that there would be discussion. He's being rather silly in the particular circumstances.

Anyway, I can see Aberdeen being in trouble at our St Mirren Park fortress on Saturday with our home record this season :

P 10, W 0, D 1, L9, F 4, A 16, PTS 1

We must be due to break down the fortress !

I don't think I've ever seen a team being 6/1 to beat Aberdeen at home.

Now I can see why they are that price.

Does McGinn even celebrate when he scores against Celtic? How embarrassing to be in your main rivals end and celebrating their goals. Shows what McGinn thinks of the 'title challenge'.

Manager and player of the month awards for McInnes and Jack.

St Johnstone won all 4 games in December but I don't think either award was really in doubt.

Alex Neil all but confirmed as the new Norwich manager.

That's one hell of a step up, but it's good to see young Scottish managers are still on the radar for English clubs.

The thing with McGinn sits a bit uneasy with me. I generally have no gripe about players going to watch the team they support but hearing he was jumping about celebrating goals which potentially harm his employer and current club does not look great.

It's happened in the past with Bebo, Diamond etc going to OF games but usually we've been in the bottom 6 and so it's had no direct bearing on the club. It's a little unprofessional and I have a feeling 'Agent Gerry' knew what he was doing by uploading the pic.

Ultimately though, all I really care about is what he does on the pitch for AFC and he's scored against Celtic several times, has the most assists in the Premiership this season and has just signed a new contract. Those are all slightly more important to me.
You are right there about Carlisle tweeting it, I know he is the agent of both Stokes and McGinn but it was a bit strange of him to do it.

As you said though, he is having a good season at Aberdeen and that is what ultimately counts. I have a feeling that McGinn might be turned into a bit of a whipping boy if he has a few bad performances, especially on 1st March.

RIP to Martin 'Kano' Kane, the guy that the Kano Foundation was initially set up to help. Hopefully the Foundation can continue to carry on the great work that they do.

Another good win today. Saints had a few decent efforts from distance but I can't remember them even having one good chance from inside the box. 8 wins and clean sheets now.

Home to Dundee next week, should be looking for 3 points there.

Exciting game this between Hamilton and United , not so much for united fans and their Harlem globetrotter tactics.

Score barrow loads of goals but unfortunately concede them as well

Celtic want to open talks with Gary Mackay-Steven over a pre-contract agreement after informing Dundee United.

Will Dundee Utd be due a fee like what happened with Charlie Telfer?

If we are going to sign him I'd rather we brought him in now instead of waiting 6 months.

Not sure. We should buy him now but Lawell will want to pay as little as possible for him.

IIRC once they are 24 there is no compo involved.

I see Sir Minty is now almost totally broke - another three of his firms now being liquidated.

I thought he was still a couple years younger than that.

He really did make some horrendous business decisions.

Still, it isn't like liquidation will stop the companies from continuing..........

We don't need money so that won't be happening, can't see him wanting to join celtic as he wants to move to England

He doesn't want to play in Europe and instead wants to play in the Championship?

Yep, strange that, even the English Championship over the Scottish Premiership ( with all its diversity ) and perhaps at most a couple of Europa League matches if he moved ( as seems unlikely ) in the January window. Re next season, even if and when Celtic win this season's league, hardly guaranteed to reach the Champions League group stage so might not see much of Europe, particularly its more glamarous side.

Maybe not so strange

Playing Vauxhall Astra and Red Bull & Vodka in the Europa or a chance at winning promotion to the Premiership? Hmmm, tough choice.

Rangers said in a statement: "Further to the announcement on 17 December 2014, Rangers Football Club Limited (the "Club") lost the appeal with the Judicial Panel of the Scottish FA on 13 January 2015 in respect of the EBT Commission fine of £250,000 levied on RFC 2012 PLC (previously The Rangers Football Club plc) (in liquidation).

"The club will now take the matter to arbitration."
So the company is the club is the company. Glad they've finally cleared that one up.

It was cleared up when you went hiding after the derby:

I didn't go hiding anywhere.

But if the company isn't the club, why are they using "the club" in their statements as shorthand for a limited company?

I wouldn't read too much into a choice of abbreviation.
