Am I right in thinking a Hearts win at the weekend and a draw at Easter Road hands Hearts the Championship with 7 games to spare in a 36 game season.

Although a Falkirk and Hibs win at the weekend will make 4th place very competitive..

Spot on good shout when was the last time a league was won in march

No wins in 5 for rangers you have to say given the opposition the worse set of results in their short history

Was done by Celtic and The Rangers last season.

Some of their fans are now saying that they don't want to be promoted.

They might yet get their wish as I am not convinced they will finish in the top 4

I think they'll make the play offs but could majorly struggle to beat Hibs.

Wish I could find my post from the summer when I predicted them to finish 4th. I was called all sorts of mental things at the time.

More than some, mate. It's now a deluge of opinion that we're not good enough, and don't deserve to go up. If we did manage, somehow, to go up I expect a drubbing off each of the top six sides every time we play them. That's how pish we are.

I do think if you come up the first season might be a real struggle, especially against the likes of celtic, aberdeen, United etc as you suggest

Can you afford not to go up?

Due to the shape we're in, and thanks to McCoist's mismanagement these past three years it'll do us far more damage than good if we do somehow make it up. We're in that bad a state that we'd simply be cannon fodder. The problems off the pitch are slowly being addressed, the catastrophe on the park's going to take years to put right.

Fair enough.

I just presumed that you'd want the extra income being in the Premiership would bring.

Whatever all the off park shenanigans at Rangers, McCoist had such an opportunity to develop young players for the future while in the bottom two divisions.

Premiership clubs send out young players on loan to these divisions to develop. McCoist had the chance to really develop young players in house, playing together, while still easily taking care of promotion.

He utterly failed, and Rangers are largely now suffering the consequences of his utter mismanagement.

No doubt it was largely through such ongoing lack of any proper running of a football club that eyes were taken off what was really happening on the football side ( other than two facile promotions ) and a likeable guy, but inept manager, was left to do his worst.

I can only think Ally thought 35000 people are paying £400 quid for a season ticket so he needed to pay for good players for cup runs and try to play nice attacking football. Which is why he went cherry picking guys like Black and Law and Bell etc who were all good for their teams but they had someone better than Ally managing them.

A few youths are coming through now and getting a game but I'm unsure if a team of youths would have just walked the third and second division or more likely have been kicked up in the air by seasoned ex-pros. More young guys should have got the chance but that's life. We can all think of players who probably didn't get enough of a chance. There will always be others on the horizon.

"Dundee United are gaining momentum and Celtic have really lost any sense of urgency. The hosts are asking for trouble if they continue to allow United to set the tempo."

GOAL

Celtic 2-0 Dundee United (Griffiths)

Was all rather depressing when Dundee United sold Mackay-Steven and Armstrong to Celtic.

If United were poor on Sunday they were horrific tonight.

They had absolutely nothing about them at all except for leaving the boot in.

Stokes had to go but he was reacting to Paton elbowing him in the face.

6 reds in 3 games and I see more to come to Saturday afternoon.

He's one of the few people who said it how it was when Rangers died and his opinions are generally if a higher standard than the usual Sportsound pundit (e.g. Derek "THE AAACCEEEESS" Ferguson, Chick "I'm not a Rangers fan" Young and Allan "IneedtoslowdownwhentalkingandbigginguptheplayersI'managentfor" Preston).

It's perfectly possible for a team to be on the ascendency, lose possession and immediately concede.

Tom English usually makes sense but his assertion last night that the United keeper didn't deserve a red card was laughable (literally, as the other pundits laughed when he said it!).

Dundee Utd are an embarassment, appealing McGowan's red card. Ive not seen a tackle with that much force in years, he tried to do Henderson and Henderson was lucky he only half connected.

He should get a 3/4/5 match ban for tackling like that.
