With the split fixtures announced are there still certain games that the police won't allow on a Friday night.

I am pretty sure that Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee United , hearts, hibs and rangers meeting each other in any combination on a Friday night is a no

The rangers played Hearts on a Friday night game that was abandoned IIRC.

Or was that just a midweek game?

Hearts have played Dundee United on a Friday night before.

Lothian & Borders police were against all Friday night football in Edinburgh, but Police Scotland don't seem to mind as much.

Neil Doncaster has got to be on a shoogly peg after the statements from Hibs and Hearts over the last couple of days.

Killie are apparently up in arms as well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32340539

The whole thing is a joke though. No one could believe Sky be allowed to start mucking about with what day English league fixtures were on 2 weeks before they happen. The fact it happens in Scotland just makes football here look amateurish.

I didn't see Kilmarnock complaining in 2011/12 when they had 20 home games.

The way the split works is that if the table doesn't finish according to the pre-season seeding, they need to make adjustments. Sometimes this means a team having 20 home games, but that's leaves them on a "list" for giving only 18 home games in a later season if problems need solved.

Yes, everyone gets a 19/19 split if the ( I presume secret ) pre-season seeding goes to plan and often even if it doesn't ( as long as you have 3 teans 'up' and 3 'down' after 33 matches ).

But sometimes the make-up of the top six can make that impossible, there being an imbalace of overall H vs A after 33 matches that by definition ( of now overall level H vs A in the remaining fixtures ) can't be countered. In parallel, someone must 'gain' or 'lose' in the bottom six, Kilmarnock in this instance.

Not much more can be done than putting teams on the 'list' for counter treatment in the future.

It's not the SPFL at fault, it's that the split league system can leave no avoidance of this.

And it is to an extent also understandable that it could prove difficult to accomodate special requests to tie in with such as anniversaries.

Maybe the Killie chairman had sussed out ( giving him the benefit of the doubt ) that one of the bottom 6 would have to end up with 20 away matches and putting in a special request for a home match on a particular day might help avoid that team being Killie.

Zico, just signed a 3 year extension to his current contract, I'll bet its not worth the paper its written on @ the end of the day

Wow, wow, wow, you think it would be difficult for Scottish football authorities to render one speechless.

But I've been catching up on the Hearts vs Rangers KO date/time fiasco.

For the SPFL not to appreciate the issues around putting back that match, and then almost more extraordinarily issuing a statement after protests from Hibs making clear that they initially still didn't 'get it', beggars belief !

All contracts are good for these days is ensuring a decent transfer fee or a pay off.

While Dundee are within a (remote) chance of 4th place, I'm afraid it's Celtic for me tomorrow.

Although we'd undoubtedly be dumped out at the first hurdle in early July by some nobodies from Iceland or Albania, it would still be nice to be "in Europe".

An attendance of 9,000 for that game, and that would include all the aunty Jean and uncle Hamish types.

21k for a Hibs v Falkirk semi that was on free to air tv really isn't that bad for 2015 either.

Semi finals really aren't a draw unless they're derbies these days.

You'd think that but once you're there paying £46.50 a ticket to watch Liverpool's reserves the shine tends to go off it.
