As for charging Celtic for extra stewarding costs, no chance. That is already covered by the premium price that you charge us for tickets. It is an extra £4 we pay over other games?”

£5. But home fans have to pay that as well, and so do fans of Aberdeen and Dundee Utd - who don't need as many extra stewards.

Charge us the same as the other sides, which would save the Celtic support about £20k and I'd be happy for the club to pay the extra stewarding since the cost would come to absolutely nowhere near £20k, I'd doubt it would cost more than £1500.

The steward deliberately handled the flying piece of advertising hoarding and Celtic are seeking clarification.

Meekings free to play in the SCF.

New Administration sanctions approved - will now be an immediate 15 point deduction with another 5 points deducted the following season, 2nd admin would bring a 25 point deduction and another 15 the following season if within 5 years of the first.

Wey, common sense reigns, though not before first the SFA, like the SPFL with the initial Rangers vs Hearts rescheduling, had shown themselves up as champion wallies.

When the FIFA referees chairman indicated his unease at a ban and that it would set a dangerous precedent, the SFA looked very isolated on this one.

So the official line is that none of the officials seen it and it wasn't deliberate.

Good news for the lad, like you say though the SFA were starting to look silly once FIFA representatives were commenting.

Now. What happens to McLean? A trip to SpecSavers and nothing else?

Sir Stevie 'Honest Mistake' McLean knows the script:

Yes, what a hero Meekings could be. Ruddy good save to stop Inverness going 2-0 down in the semi final and then the winner in the final

Interesting to read the SFA quote, they seem to be implying that other cases where a ban is actually given are not 'honest mistakes.

Quote:
“Hughes, who accepted Meekings would have warranted a red card had the referee spotted the offence, said: “Celtic keep getting flung into it, but I came in here this morning and all Kristine, our receptionist, says to me is that the phone had never stopped ringing with Celtic supporters wishing Josh Meekings all the best and hoping he plays in the final.

“I believe that comes right from the top at Celtic. They
conduct themselves in a great manner.””

Panel have explained that they had no right to ban Meekings as the assistant behind the goal thought he saw what took place - he can be quite clearly saying he thinks the ball hit his face .... case closed.

I'm happy the player can play in the final but talk about milking it. Like Hughes was going to give up on a Scottish cup final, pull the other one it has bells on it.

3rd vs 4th then winners play 2nd then winners of that play 11th in the Premiership. All over 2 legs home and away. No away goals I think.

I don't think he was going to quit before the cup final, he claims he was becoming disillusioned with Scottish football and I expect he was only considering leaving at the end of the season (quite good for another attempt down south if you quit as a trophy winning manager). It is a bit sensationalist although it does disprove the claims that 'all Celtic fans' wanted ICT & Meekings hung, drawn & quartered.

Reading about the Meekings case the SFA seem to be saying that in the future no player will be punished retrospectively for diving for a penalty if a penalty is awarded.

if correct, this is PURE PANICKING, resulting in things and rulings being thrown against the wall and seeing what one smells the nicest! what bloody relevance does THAT have??

The SFA website has Josh Meekings listed as being suspended today. He was playing and has only been booked 3 times this season so not suspended at all.

Bunch of absolute clowns, amateur ones at that.

Another good win for AFC. Keeps it alive anyway.

St Mirren score 4 and Josh Magennis also scores in the same match.

So Hibs are now one win away from securing second place.
