It's a very tough League to get out of, just look at Hibs & Rangers' struggle this season.

St Mirren Park is in the middle of nowhere, no boozers near it, tho' it is right next to a train station, so you can come in from elsewhere.

Imagine celebrating at beating Aberdeen to the title. You still can't do the treble after being handed it on a plate 3 seasons running.

I wonder what the odds of Rangers only finishing 3rd would have been at the start of the season. Pretty long I would imagine.

PFA Scotland player of the year is Stefan Johansen, Jason Denayer young player of the year, John Hughes manager of the year and goal of the season is Stevie Mallon for St Mirren against Dundee.

Well done bit of a strange choice they haven't achieved anything yet they could fail to qualify for europe and get beat in the cup final

Not that I would recommend it without a full hazard suit and without the proper inoculation if going by train get off at Paisley Gilmour Street plenty of pubs around the station.

Anyway after an up and down season we are finally crowned champions, always got to do it the hard going a goal down in front of a bumper crowd of over 6000 at Cappielow, didn't seem like it was going to be our day, forfar and stranraer were both winning and we were being defied by an inform keeper. Red card turned the game, forfar concede an equaliser and Michael Miller unleashes a thunderbolt from 30 yards, a few minutes later it was turned around Mark Russell hit a long range effort peterhead keeper couldn't hold it and that was 2-1. Second half was comfortable until Jamie Stevenson came on as he seemed desperate to score against us. But League One Player of the Year Declan McManus settled the nerves in the 83rd minute rounding the keeper and firing into an empty net to seal the title as Forfar were losing 3-1 to Ayr. Final whistle all that needs to be said is SCENES, always love a pitch invasion.

Bring on the St M****n next season

Anyone know why the Championship and League 1 play offs aren't done the same way as the Premiership play offs?

Is it just down to timing issues?

The SPL has the top 6/bottom 6 split, prolonging the SPL season. The lower Leagues are basically over now. So, yes I'd say timing, by the time the SPL ends the Championship playoff winner to face the 2nd bottom SPL side will be decided.

Fair play to Cadger.

Had a decent career, tried to go to a higher level but injuries hampered him.

That's a really intriguing one for me.

Brora a goal up but away in the 2nd leg and their chairman has said that he doesn't want promotion due to all the extra money it will cost the club in the likes of travelling expenses.

Which is a strange opinion, because the prize money for finishing bottom of League 2 is over 6 times that for winning the HFL. Plus entry to the League Cup and Challenge Cup, and an extra home game in the season.

At worst, they'll do about the same financially. But I think he's overstating the travel costs somewhat.

I've no idea how much it costs to hire a coach but they'd have some horrible trips to make.

Trips to the likes of Berwick or Annan must be about a 7 hour drive so they'll probably be put up in a hotel the night before.

Of course it could just be that he wants to be a big fish in a small pond.

It is also, of course more protective, probably deliberately so, of the Premiership second bottom club, with them just playing in a final play-off rather than SFs as well to even get into a final play-off.

I think the play-off system is dictating the league imetable at least ( probably more ) than vice versa.

For Championship to Premiership I have no great argument about that, but I'd take one stage out and leave the 4th team in the Championship out, with 2nd automatically meeting 3rd.

That said, as we have it in the first play-off this year, come on Queens !

Do Brora want in the league or not ??

They could already have contrived to lose to the Lowland League Champions, Edinburgh City, who they finally beat on penalties in their initial play-off.

Some teams have a history of losing penalty shoot outs even when they are really trying !

The chairman doesn't and says that some of the players don't want to either.

The manager does.

I'm a killie fan & I'm not that confident at the moment. We're on a horrible run & I predict we'll finish 11th & be in the play off
