Bad luck to Hibs - but they must surely be favourites for the title next season. If you're prepared to stick it out, it's great to get your hands on that trophy. I discovered last year that it's the original pre-SPL top division trophy, so has loads of history engraved into it. But if they don't get up next season, it could be a long time before they're back. It's a nightmare of a league to escape from.

I have a horrible feeling that next season will be "business as usual" in the Premiership with the last three years forgotten.
I don't know, you will have St Mirren, probably Well (or maybe Rangers again), Falkirk, QOS, Alloa, a reborn Morton (have a soft spot for them) , Raith, Livingston........that's a tough league.

Well, its up to the SPL to challenge a stronger Rangers.

Hollow result good performance from United , too few of those since January .

However fifth is a poor finish, fair play to St Johnstone and Inverness though who have done well with much smaller budgets.

Not convinced Inverness will win the cup so maybe it wouldn't have mattered anyway

Only in Scotland, would a 41000 crowd, midweek, with the game on telly, be sneered at.
Who was sneering?

The SPL no longer exists.

Great performance today to end the season.

We only lost 1 league game in the last 5 months!

and well done to ICT for getting into the europa league qualifiers
dundee united should never have sold their two best players, it's cost them big time ..... and at least fourth!

Apparently Ciftci was feeling a bit hungry during the game today.

I thought arguments about empty seats were silly. Reductionist arguments that sadly characterise the small mentality of Scottish football for me.

True, my lazy mistake. Mind you I preferred it instead of copying what the English leagues are called. Smacks of laziness. Point still stands though.

Well done. Although Ronny's Celtic for me are much less impressive and ahead of the pack than Lennon's Celtic was 2012-14.

Ronny came in and brought a brand new culture into the club, that was always going to take time for the team to settle into.

We only dropped 9 points after Christmas which is the same at Lennon's Celtic side in 2013/14. The Lennon side of 2012/13 dropped 18 points after Christmas. In 2011/12 the Lennon side dropped 8 points after Christmas.

As for being ahead of the pack in the Lennon years Celtic averaged 90.75 points, Ronny exceeded that this season.

I'd liked to have seen a few more league goals as well were almost 7 goals back on what Lennon's teams averaged that is negated by the fewer goals we conceded.

I just feel they are more vulnerable than Lennon's team. For me, not as impressive and I get the feeling that other teams can 'get at them' more than Lennon's.

Just a feeling watching them this season.
Maybe its just me.

In domestic football we played 47 games and conceded 21 goals.

If that is a 'vulnerable' Celtic I'll take it every season.

Celtic Wiki says it was Manchester United but the game was actually played in July as the league finished on 2nd May.

LOL

More their general play and defence. I jus felt you were more vulnerable at times this season to teams you usually steamrollered. You beat the Dons 4-0, but they were the better team for 45-60m and should have scored a couple.

Do Hamilton get any kick backs, cos Alex Neil got Norwich into the land of milk & honey ?

Never heard of that for a manager before but what a job he has done.

Great turnout by Dundee at Selhurst Park tonight.

A great night last night. Fantastic to see such great players back in a Dundee Jersey, especially the number 1 himself. Special mention also to Charlie Adam for his goal - I think it's everyone's boyhood dream to score for the club you support.

And contrary to shit-stirrers on Twiter, there was no bother at all. Palace and their fans were signing their praises of the Dundee suport and the latter are desperate for a pre-season game at Dens. It should finitely be made to happen.

1-0 or 2-1 Rangers. Depends what Motherwell/Rangers turn up on the night.

Its not good for Celtic either, Rangers not going up. Each Old Firm match is worth around £1m+ per match, per Club.

Even if they score they'll still need a miracle, just not happening for Rangers tonight, Motherwell are the better team, they've played good football and scored some tidy goals.
