Celtic will only ever get a challenge once Rangers are back in the SPL.
Tiill then the title race is over before it starts. Those teams you mention will never challenge Celtic.
The lack of competition means more often than not Celtic will be embarrassed in Europe.
Rangers wont be a real challange to celtic until a few years after reaching the spl, they aren't a top division club at the moment, i mean i suppose if winning every league all the way to the top then winning the top one is their intent and they have a financial plan in place to buy top division players the season before reaching the top so they are ready then yeah they could do it.

But given the problems they have in their boardroom, i dont think they will be ready for the first year to win the top spot, they may be in the spl for a couple of seasons before winning.

When Rangers come back they won't have much money to spend. It will take years for you to challange us again.
damn the comedy post award is getting passed around in here

i honestly think we may struggle our 1st season back (struggle for 1st place) ...but it will be doable... by 2nd season we will back to making history , and your team will be in 2nd place where it rightfully belongs

bookmark this post , so you can come back in a few years to see how right i am

but for now the only thing needing challenged is your spelling of challenge

What an odd expression in this context.

Think most Ton fans are pleased with this appointment. A rookie would have been a big risk and Marko Rajamaki would have been brilliant under different circumstances as he is still well liked down Cappielow way.

Pleased to see Hoppy as assistant giving continuity in terms of knowledge of our squad.

Post match interviews should be interesting

Sevco might never challenge Celtic for the SPL. The old club challenged us and I think from 2000 until their death the highest amount of points they won the League by was 6 points.

Yet from 2000 until their death, they had investment of £10million from Dave King, £20million from Joe Lewis, David Murray shifted £50million of debt to MIH, they saved something like £25million in Tax and National insurance by using EBT's, conned Ticketus out of £24million and still snuffed it with other debts.

If you call that a total of £130million they squandered in 12 years, on average £11million a year they had from 2000-2012 that wasnt within their own means and yet with that additional money they could only scrape League wins then what would make up for that in the New Club to be able to challenge?

Especially as Celtic are now richer than we've ever been. Sevco will need a lot of luck or probably another £20-40million of investement.

Rangers death was directly attributed to their attempts to challenge Celtic, theres no reason why Sevco wont go the same way if they attempt to do the same and if they dont attempt to do the same then how can they really challenge considering financially they will be a lot weaker than Rangers?

Sevco wont be able to sign a single player that Celtic want probably ever unless the player supports them because 1. The player will choose the bigger club, 2. The player will want the most money and 3. The club will want the best deal. There is no real quality SPL players the now but if the new Paul Lamberts, Steven Fletchers, James McCarthys and Jackie McNamaras come along there is only 1 Scottish club they are joining.

Its a joke, especially considering Ajax got two seperate fines totalling that 1 for an illicit banner and the other for violence at Celtic Park.

Also "Uefa rules prohibit messages of a political and ideological nature being displayed in a stadium." do they aye? what about that Mandela banner they made everyone stand behind at all the games and did they miss the big "We want to vote Independance" banner Barcelona had at the game?

Any Scottish player of quality wouldn't go to Celtic when they can go to England and get more money, play in a competitive league and get more exposure. That 6-1 drubbing off Barcelona won't have people knocking your door down to sign for you.

The fines keep escalating as the fans keep disgracing themselves, what else can UEFA do? The green brigade are no more, so that should theoretically put an end to the displays of banners of that nature. Whoever thought that banner was a good idea should pay the fine, although surely Celtic must look at these things before they let them in?

When you spunk circa £100 million and go bust you don't really have a rightful place anywhere.

6-1 was almost flattering to Celtic, it could have gone double figures and that's withhout Messi or Iniesta. There is no positive spin to be put on that performance. Especially when a strong European campaign is supposed to be a draw for talented foreigners to sign for Celtic. Played 6 lost 5 and minus 11 goal difference is a very poor return in a group that featured a misfiring Milan and Ajax who didn't look anything special. You'd have to think a talented players agent would be steering them down south to put themselves in the shop window.

True it wasnt good enough but you dont get Champions League football at Norwich, West Brom and Sunderland.

For a lot of players their only chance to play the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan, Ajax, Benfica etc is at teams like Celtic.

If he is fit and back playing at a top level, dont see the issue calling him up
