Not only are Dundee not the biggest club in their city, they're not even the biggest club in their street!

The past 3 or so pages of this thread remind me why I've not bothered really posting in it.
Should be renamed 'the Old Firm Fannies, handbags-at-dawn thread'.
"Scottish Fitba thread" my arse, it's like watching the same hamsters run around on their wee wheels.
Yeah pretty much reason I tend to avoid this thread but as the Tribute act are coming to town on Sunday thought I would have a look.

Totally random but watching the rugby World Cup and I love the whole bonus point thing for scoring 4 tries. Really encourages attacking play.

Do you think something similar would work in football?

Easy 4-0 for Rangers, should have been 7 or 8. Oduwa and Zelalem were taking the absolute piss.

If it was bonus points for goals Rangers would win the league by November.

McKay missed a sitter, Waghorn missed a sitter, Shiels off the post. Could have been 7 or 8 or more if we wanted. It was like a training game.

Am I getting the timeline wrong or did it all start to turn sour for Jackie when it was revealed he was taking a cut of the transfer fees?

A bonus point per goal scored could be interesting.

Ciftci is honking, money wasted.

I never really rated him at Utd to be honest. The two young boys were great but he never really impressed me.

I think a point per goal might be a bit much, but maybe if you scored 3 you could get a bonus point. Just think it would encourage attacking play a lot more

Something I've seen advocated to reward attacking play is to have no points for a 0-0.

Would be interesting to see how that would have affected league standings in recent years.

That would be a bit unfair if the score was 0-0 due to keepers playing a blinder but it shows there is no solution that everybody will be happy with.

Easy - offer a bonus point for x number of saves in a 0-0

While we're at it we can change the rules so 3 corners equal a penalty and change the value of a goal depending on how it is scored. Volleys and overhead kicks worth more than a normal shot or header.

And man of the match gets your team double points.

In all seriousness though I do quite like the idea of a bonus point if you score a certain number of goals

Squad for upcoming fixtures v Poland and Gibraltar

Goalkeepers: Craig Gordon, David Marshall, Allan McGregor
Defenders: Christophe Berra, Gordon Greer, Grant Hanley, Alan Hutton, Russell Martin, Charlie Mulgrew, Andrew Robertson, Graeme Shinnie, Steven Whittaker
Midfielders: Ikechi Anya, Scott Brown, Darren Fletcher, James Forrest, Shaun Maloney, James McArthur, Kevin McDonald, James Morrison, Matt Ritchie
Forwards: Steven Fletcher, Leigh Griffiths, Chris Martin, Steven Naismith, Jordan Rhodes, Johnny Russell

Good to see Rhodes back in the squad and Shinnie called up, disappointed to see Forrest and Steven Fletcher still in the squad.

Fletcher vs Poland and Griffiths and Rhodes against Gibraltar will be Strachan's logic. With the form Lewandowski is in and that crap defence it looks like we're in trouble.

Decent performance but gutted with the overall result.

Fenerbache fans much quieter than I expected them to be as well.
