Police says two sets of fans were fighting - so if one gets punished the other should too.
Yeah, probably the CCS v Hibs Youth over who lost the spoon.

The "early start" is only 2 days.

By failing to win today, you've put yourselves into the group stage of the League Cup, which begins on 16th July and brings with it four games before the start of the league season.

At least in Europe you could field a weak enough team to drop out after two games, 16 days before the league starts. Your final League Cup group stage game will be 7.
The league cup means nothing and will have a weakened team, but it isn't travelling to outer Mongolia for a match.

The Hibs fans involved will be up in court before long to face the consequences. They will be getting jail sentences, hefty bans and losing their jobs. Hope it was worth it.

They are surrounded by CCTV and professional photographers, they have to be the dumbest criminals in the world. They only have themselves to blame for destroying their lives.

Poor scenes at the end from both sets of fans but what a good game of football that was.

The ones who climbed the goalposts will be easily identified, I'm not sure about the others in the middle of the pitch though.

Pitch invasions were quite common in GAA circles until recent years until there was an incident similar to yesterday (by losing supporters though as opposed to winners). Subsequently pitch invasions were banned but they also erected a barrier on the terrace which I still question as there's potential for another Hillsborough there surely?

Can't see how a European ban can be justified as it wasn't a European game but definitely a hefty fine and maybe a couple of games behind closed doors.

Was a pity it happened as it ruined what had been a cracking game.

Great final. Hefty fines coming up for both teams I'd say. Pitch invasions, smoke bombs to. Busy days ahead for SFA

Are we forgetting the minor issue of Rangers players being assaulted....

Some Hibs fans assaulted the Rangers players, apparently 5 of them.

All they did was ruin it for themselves, all anyone will talk about now is the fighting on the pitch and the almost riot like scenes.

Some trying to justify for it simply because they hate Rangers/Unionism/Protestantism etc. The hate is deep in Scotland.

Disgraceful scenes, folk should be punished for this rather than it being celebrated as an iconic moment in Scottish football.

Ironic.

Exactly. All this chat of "it had been a long time coming. Let them have heir moment" is utterly ridiculous. I know it sounds like I'm being dramatic but all it takes is for one nutter to be carrying a weapon and for all hell to break loose.

Big portion of the Hibs fans were complete idiots and yes a small percentage of Rangers fans were idiots for coming on to challenge them when provoked I can't deny that.

The biggest problem here I believe is lack of policing and stewarding. Surely the SFA knew this would happen if Hibs won? They're not going to blame themselves though are they???

Complete nonsense. Doesn't help that Rangers fans sing anti Catholic, anti Irish songs? Then you wonder why Hibs fans may not like Rangers.

Funny how Celtic fans were criticised on here before and in the media for letting of flares, yet when Rangers fans let of flares it's ok though. The Hibs fans were out of order and shouldn't have attacked the Rangers players though.

Not once have I said it's ok. I think they were complete idiots and should and will be punished.

Don't try and put the blame on Rangers fans when it was clearly the Hibs fans running on the pitch, attacking the Rangers players and then the Rangers fans respond by running on the pitch.

The Sun has got it completely mixed up and trying to pass it off as the opposite, complete lies.

Where have I blamed Rangers? It's you that brought up religion on this thread. I was only responding that you forget that Rangers have a history of singing anti Catholic songs, that's many reasons why people disliked them. Same with Celtic and Hibs who have Irish Catholic roots, many Rangers fans hate them for that.

I've clearly said in my previous posts that the Hibs fans were to blame.

Will post properly on this when I've had time to recover and have viewed it all back properly. There are scum in every support, Hibs included but there are several images and videos circulating of 'The Rangers' fans attacking celebrating Hibs fans.

Also pot kettle black, remember the time those beautiful Rangers fans brought peace and harmony to a city in England when playing a UEFA Cup final. Nah didn't think so. For any blue spec wearers I'll happily post a few links of the week you brought shame on the whole of football with your disgusting antics.

Now as a fan of a club who doesn't have much success I'm away to appreciate and enjoy the open top bus parade.
