Claims of Rangers having an 'aging' squad, is as usual, vastly overhyped:

Holt -23
Waghorn -26
Tav - 24
Halliday - 24
Foderingham - 25
Wilson - 24
Kiernan - 25
McKay - 21
Thompson - 19
Burt - 17
Walsh - 19

Over 30's :

Miller:36
Gilks:34
Barton:33
Hill:37
Kranjcar:31

The young striker Ryan Hardie at 19 looks a real prospect and Rossiter at 19 looks like he could be one to watch and even Windass and Crooks at 22 there is plenty potential there.

The spine of the team I like an older and experienced keeper, older centre back, older defensive midfielder and older striker with guile. Surround those positions with potential and youth and let it learn and we could be on to a winner.

Older than Celtic and much more limited ability.

Janko 19
Tierney 19
Ralston 17
Fisher 22
Simunovic 21
Sviatchenko 24
Ajer 18
McGregor 23
Henderson 20
Bitton 24
Forrest 24
Armstrong 24
Allan 24
Rogic 23
Christie 21
Roberts 19
Dembele 19
Aitchison 16

All Celtic players under 25, then theres Boyata, Johansen, GMS and Griffiths who are 25.

Celtic only have 6 players who are 26 or older, 2 are goalkeepers and the others are Ambrose, Izaguirre, Commons and Lustig and it's quite likely Ambrose, Izaguirre and Commons could leave. A squad that will grow in seasons to come, most of the players very talented.

Janko, Simunovic and Ajer captain the Swiss U21, Croatia U21 and Norway U19 teams. Roberts was England U19s best player. Dembele played France youth football with Martial and Coman. Christie, Armstrong, Forrest, Tierney, Allan and Sviatchenko have won POTY awards at some level.

Rodgers will want a young side with legs as he will have the team playing high intensity, high pressing football. Hunting the ball down to win it back quickly.

No passengers allowed.

With the players we have and the ones coming in that is exactly the style we should play. Added to that a bit of strength from Erik, Bitton and Broony and it should hold us in good stead.

I'd like us to get rid of a few players still though to increase the transfer/wage budget Rodgers has.

I'm not convinced Brown will start. His not the fittest for starters secondly he just gives the ball away too much.

His fitness is the key thing and everything else revolves around that. The fitter you are the less likely you are to make sloppy passes.

Broony, like Johansen last season, has played through the pain barrier way too often. Whilst it is great that they've shown that commitment to the club ultimately it has been to the detriment of both the players and the team.

Still doesn't make up for his lack of technical ability. His first touch is abysmal.

Hopefully Celtic get a good run out tonight with most of the squad getting on.

Hopefully Aberdeen and the Jambos get wins as well.

A decent run out for Celtic with 23 players getting on the pitch with a complete change of personnel at half time. Decent goal from Rogic as well.

The Aberdeen result will make it look like they struggled until they got 2 goals at the death but they had 2 goals chopped off questionably and should have run out much more comfortable winners.

It's another 2 weeks before Hibs play.

Plenty of time to prepare the side.

I'm sure he would have been watching/listening if he could.

My mate was at the game tonight and his biggest gripe was that they have stopped selling sausage rolls at Pittodrie and are selling macaroni pies instead. No idea if it was a one off but I think it overshadowed the game for him.

Guys like Forrest aren't good enough, Armstrong is Dundee Utd quality, Allan not good enough, Henderson not good enough, McGregor not good enough. Players that are too young to deduce anything from like Aitchison or Ralston don't merit inclusion and neither do loan players like Roberts.

I heard all this 'international players' before the cup semi final, I wasn't scared. Not that Celtic don't have good players, but I'm not seeing this massive 4 year gap that was supposed to be there. You can have all the under 25s in Scotland, but it is if they actually get to play that matters.

I've never watched that pish in my life nevermind starting threads on it.

I watched the game and it could easily have been 10. Looked a lot sharper in the 2nd half, had two chopped off, two off the line, hit the woodwork and their keeper had some good saves.

* Just looked at the BB forum and I see there is a DC posting in there but that one has a space between the names.

Could have had a penalty as well.

A 2 goal lead should make it comfortable over there. Should....

Is this a surprising result?
Were the 'wee Ver' expected to win this titanic clash of Lanarkshire giants, despite being 2 Leagues lower than the mighty Well'?
The mind truly boggles
