Wrong. HRMC won the case and its now the liquidators BDO who have challenged the ruling and taking it to the Supreme court. Please keep up.

If everything was legal as you say can you just care to explain what exactly were HRMC looking?

No what's pathetic is a near decade of not paying the full amount of tax to employees and signing players that otherwise wouldn't of been signed if it wasn't for the use of a scheme to avoid paying your beloved Queen her tax receipts.

Its a conspiracy I tell ya. Everyone has ganged up on poor Rangers.

You might not like it but for anyone to try and claim no league title has credibility if 'Rangers' were not in the same division yet somehow titles won during a decade of dodgy payments to players was credible is simply laughable,
absolutely nothing illegal about it , hope that helps, ebts were a legal tax avoidance scheme when rangers used them. hmrc has retrospectively decided rangers owed them the money for these after decided they were illegal in 2010, which was after rangers stopped using them. those are the facts of the matter

No different to any other tax avoidance scheme which people or companies are advised to use only to find out the Taxman wants money his owed.

Rangers could of stopped using EBT's when the alarm bells started ringing way before 2010 but decided to keep using them even though they were very ambiguous.

The end result being the courts ruled with HRMC saying Tax is owed.

Let's not forget the whole players not being registered correctly whose side letters were ‘deliberately’ not disclosed in an effort of concealment.

Quite the mistake for a party claiming innocence.

Get in.

1-1

Roberts again been the best player for Celtic by a mile. The centre midfield is beyond a joke. Brown and Armstrong are terrible and McGregor well below the mark. Cant tackle, cant press, cant pass.

Really poor Goalkeeping from Gordon as well for the goal. In Europe he seems to get done on crosses regularly

Happy to get a draw and get them back to Glasgow, cracking finish.

Dembele is starting to worry me already and we didn't really create very much.

That just simply isn't true.

EBTs were only legal if operated correctly.

Rangers didn't operate them correctly.

It was said when the goal went in he never moved from the bench or even cracked a smile, wot is wrong with this bloke??

Our midfield are utter crap, & as foe Broony hes had his day

Least we wont have to put up with Efe next week I hope !!

The midfield put so much pressure on the defence simply because they can't hold onto the ball. The a lightest bit of pressure and the passing becomes erratic. Constantly give it away. Rodgers needs to be backed to bring in at minimum 1 central midfield player.

Brown shouldn't be in the team let alone captain.

Looks like I'm in a minority of 1 here but I didn't think that Brown was that bad today.

Thought the ref was pretty awful. Gave Celtic nothing. They were targeting Roberts and the ref allowed them to repeatedly foul him.

I think he'll come good eventually - whether he and Griffiths can play together is so far looking doubtful.

Good result nonetheless with the away goal.

It's not the end result though as the matter is still under appeal. Overall, you have given a distorted view. The EBT scheme was declared in published accounts and these accounts plus other documents were submitted both to HMRC and the football authorities.

Yeah, it is good that we can discuss this on the back of a decent result instead of a defeat.

Hopefully a few of the injured players will be back sooner rather than later and we can get a couple more players in.

Still a fair amount of deadwood we need to move on though.

The issue is, as things currently stand, that Rangers lied about what the EBTS were for.

They were legal, but not for what you used them for.

Nonsense. As misawa97 indicated above, the issue is whether tax is due or not. And the courts may yet rule in our favour.

They were wages and as such tax was due on them. That is the position of HMRC.

Rangers claimed they weren't wages so no tax was due.

Currently HMRC are 'in the lead'.

Is that the same illegal tax avoidance schemes that half your squad, ex-manager and directors used then??

There is only one club in the dock here. The old club called Rangers.

Looks like there is a fair whack of cash on and some tweets appearing about van Persie going to Ibrox.

More chance of Filip Sebo signing for Barcelona than that.

You'd assume to come to Ibrox he'd need to take a massive pay cut but with GASL's record in South Africa who knows if the PAYE money would reach HMRC?

van Persie had a good season in Turkey last year but was poor against us in the Europa League.

1-1 imo is a very good result for Celtic. That lot are no mugs and I suspect they may score at Celtic Park but I think Celtic have enough in attack to win on the night next week.

Hope we can get a lead of some sort tomorrow, we have a variety of options up front now and I 'm hopeful we can get a decent result to take to Slovenia.

Going to be a cracking crowd at Pittodrie tonight.

Hopefully you can get a couple goals of a lead to take over there.
