How many of McCormacks games and goals were in the Premier League?

Surely you aren't trying to say that scoring 3 league goals in 4 seasons is better than scoring 71 league goals over the same period?

You've compared a winger and a striker which is, in this case, a poor comparison.

You've also compared someone who who has played, on average, in 89% games in the last 4 seasons with someone who has played in 34% of games.

As much as I want Scott Sinclair to be a hit at Celtic there is a reason he is available for £4m. He flopped at Man City, he flopped at West Brom and he flopped at Aston Villa.

Celtic confirm Sinclair signing and he is available for the game at Tynecastle.

& one last thing I thought Miller was playing ?

Keep up the good work "The Pride of the Shire " ”

Barton was poor 1st half, much better 2nd. I agree at 33, he has lost pace, which is why I want either Rossiter or Crooks (6'4, 14st) in beside him to cover any loss of pace. TBF, in the 2nd half he did run and go into some tackles at speed. And I agree I don't want him sitting too deep, as Barry used to too often. Barton will be more effective pushing forward as a link between the back four and Rossiter/Crooks and the attacking players. Rossiter btw looks a wee gem.

Niko is lacking fitness and sharpness, I said on here it would take a while for him to get up to speed. I am not overly bothered about his lack of pace and his slower style, as I want him to be the playmaker. As Jim Baxter once said, nothing moves quicker on a pitch than the ball. The man can play and then some, has great vision and passing ability. Let him come good. Give him time and he will enhance the SPL.

Miller?. Love the guy, love his attitude and is still a top player at 36-37, but needs to be used as an impact sub/sub/cover than starter.

Kenny Millers horrendous first touch has him chasing the ball round in circles trying to control it. Kranjcar I think everyone knew would be similar to that, hes had no pace or energy his entire career.

Hamilton may be the worst if not 2nd worst SPL team too behind Kilmarnock and look comfortable here.”

I quote what I said to the other poster about Barton. I agree about Miller, for a top player who can do things with the ball at his feet, his touch can be poor at times.

Its the start of the season. Lets see where we/everyone is after a few months. I can remember the great 9IAR teams LOSING first games (St Mirren at Ibrox). There were positives yesterday, but obvious negatives and issues to address. Sometimes a so-so result is a good thing: it focuses the manager and owners on what needs to be done and spent.

Even if Waggy's injury isn't serious, we already need another quality CH and striker. Either top EPL loans or preferably get the chequebook out.

I sit in the East Enclosure, and the Halliday foul happened right in front of me. It was a foul, the Accies player caught Andy's trailing leg. It wasn't a dive.

Accies goal came from a clear foul to us that wasn't given. I was at the game, the ref a homer, you must be kidding.

There is pace wide (fb and wing) and up front, but we are lacking it at the back and midfield. A younger CH will sort that out at the back, and either Rossiter/Crooks will inject it in the middle. We also have Holt and Windass to come back as well as Crooks. Dodoo up front is a speed demon, and O'Halloran has speed to burn. We also need a powerful forward (esp if Waghorn is out), someone with aerial ability, to compliment Dodoo and O' Halloran.

BTW, I also see lack of pace and weak spine in your mob. For all the quality of Roberts, Sinclair forward. With Barton, Rossiter, Crooks (6'4, 14st), Holt, Niko, Halliday all fit, that's a very strong midfield to pick from. Sorry, but imo, a midfield 3 of Barton, Rossiter and Crooks will boss your midfield on Sept 10th. Or Barton, Crooks and Holt/Windass. Your defence looks at times lacking pace and nous, and I don't fear a midfield of Brown, Bitton etc. Frankly, with a weaker midfield than we have now, we bossed it at Hampden.

As I said, its day one. Lets not read too much into Rangers or Celtic. Its amazing the change in Rangers when you take Miller, Halliday off and bring on the likes of O Halloran, Forrester, Dodoo. Or have them starting, and have Holt, Windass, Crooks fit.

Barton played all right overall and Kranjcar did some good stuff. Neither looked fully match-fit - we'll see how they go as time goes on. Hopefully Waghorn isn't too badly injured though there are other players who can come in.

Toure and O'Connell start at centre half with Sinclair on the bench for Celtic.

I am guessing you are just arguing for the sake of it now. I was not saying he was better than McCormack. I was just pointing out that in today's market, £4m for a player who has played in the EPL for four years is a decent buy compared to £12m for player who has never played at that level.

No, I'm pointing out that the last 4 years of Sinclair's career have been a write off and that is why he is available for £4m or thereabouts.

But anyway, please accept my apologies for me using facts and reasoning to show why Ross McCormack is worth more than Scott Sinclair.

That Tanner guy on Sky sports never fails to hide his bias.

"Razzmatazz of the return of Rangers". Pack it in.

Have to disagree. No striker in the championship should be be bought for £12 mil let alone a 29 year old who won't get any better than he is now.

Sinclair at £4 mil is value for money.

Cuddihy isn't great but it gets you away from Andy Walker and Neil McCann.

A compromise I'm willing to take.

Good point.

Classy finish from Forrest. I don't think the ref would of given a pen.

Really can't see how the ref could give that a penalty. He basically guessed that the player must have been taken out or he wouldn't have gone down.

Shocking decision

Terrible decision for the Hearts penalty however I don't think our goal should have stood either. Armstrong was right in front of the keeper.

Griffiths and Watt will be gutted with the chances they missed.

Not a bad game so far.

Hook Armstrong off. Another half of football where he does nothing.

Tanner on sky's sports

"Let's deal with the controversial issue from that half - Was Armstrong offside?"

Yes because that was the most controversial decision in the game.
