Celtic through but Aberdeen, Hamilton, Hearts and Motherwell all out with Partick currently playing extra time.
Partick beaten on penalties.

Great result for Stranraer beating Spartans 7-1 after they were hammered at home by Alloa on Saturday.

I'm sure the tic fans in the stand, would say different ?
I'm sure they would have.

It was just a bizarre situation.

Cowdenbeath want to make a sub, player comes off and gives the Celtic support a GIRFUY gesture, sub comes on, referee speaks to the linesman, red cards the subbed player and then makes the sub go off.

Some things never change.

BY KEITH JACKSON

THE annual figures released by Rangers Retail show that the Ibrox club saw little return from commercial deal with Sports Direct due to cash clawbacks.

THE true cost of Mike Ashley’s retail deals with Rangers was laid bare yesterday with the release of a set of accounts which appear to show the club banked almost nothing from kit sales last year.

The Ibrox club may have made as little as £30,000 from strip sales – despite being owed £1.3million after a turnover of £4.2m.

But the annual figures released by Rangers Retail are so full of holes that they had to carry a disclaimer on behalf of the independent auditor.

And business experts believe the last three years of the company’s official accounts may now have to be redone after the latest report revealed an astonishing error in the allocation of their shares.

The blunder has only come to light since club directors Dave King and Paul Murray joined the retail board a year ago.

The figures record turnover for strips and merchandise of more than £4.2m for the year ending

And, despite slumping sales, £2.7m worth of dividends were paid out to two shareholders – Ashley’s Sports Direct and the club.

The shares were originally split, with 51 per cent belonging to Rangers and 49 per cent under Ashley’s control. But the Sports Direct holding increased to 75 per cent after Ashley bailed out the previous board with a £5m emergency loan.

Rangers Director Paul Murray joined the board of Rangers Retail a year ago
And, before King and Murray had taken control and paid off Ashley’s loan, the dividend was triggered.

One expert said last night: “Effectively, a decision was taken to pay Rangers a 25 per cent share of the dividend before the loan was repaid and the shareholding returned to the more even split.

“In other words, Rangers should have banked more than £1.3million but that payout was reduced in half to around £650,000. And from that sum a whole range of other deductions were then made.”

It’s believed at least part of a sum of around £620,000 – for costs incurred when loss-making Rangers stores were closed – may also have been deducted from the final amount paid to the club.

But the figures paint a fuzzy financial picture because of a lack of information, which forced the auditors to say: “We have not been able to obtain sufficient appropriate evidence to provide a basis for an audit opinion.”

And the bizarre blunder over the share allocation was also confirmed.

The report said: “During the year it was identified that the issued share capital of the company was 200 shares, not the 100 shares stated in the 2014 and prior financial statements – 100 of these shares were allotted in error.
"The directors of the company, having been alerted to this error, will now take all necessary steps to cancel these shares.”

Sports Direct did not respond to requests for a comment last night.

Some things never change.
The one thing we all know is that you cannot trust anyone involved at either Ibrox or Shirebrook.

They are all shysters of one sort or another.

Teams need preseason games, but when the season starts teams shouldn't be playing daft friendlies that nobody cares about.
I assume you are not happy about playing Linfield on Sept 3rd.

Not as easy as scoring against a team with a 35 year old and good old Efe at the back.

Only team to offer to help us out in 2012. They are welcome any time.

Both of whom will stroll the SPL.

Celtic U20s beating Cowdenbeath 2-1. 16 year old Aitchison and 17 year old Crossan with the goals.

Shows how much money Sevco squandered paying Cribari, Mohsni, Black, McCulloch, Law, Templeton, Shiels, Sandaza, Kyle, Daly to beat(and even draw and lose) to teams like Annan and Cowdenbeath when 16-18 year old Celtic players can outclass them easily and beat them in their first ever games against men.
No argument there. We could have won the lower leagues with quality youth players bolstered by a few old heads who stayed. We could have built a talented young team around McKay and others. Instead we wasted money on unnecessaries like Cribari and complete tossers like Black.

In one game when a cheat of a referee had to send one of their guys off. It's hardly winning 3 divisions is it? Celtic got beat off Morton to burst another treble, does that mean Morton could outclass the SPL at the time? Try using an ounce of logic in future.

How long ago were they chased away from Celtic Park?

The clubs you support have had:-

David Murray - Ran up massive debts and never paid tax correctly;
Craig Whyte - A disgraced businessman who ran away from the UK in the 1990s but returned to take over at Ibrox, lied on how he got the funds and didn't pay tax;
Charles Green - Admitted he lied to Craig Whyte to get control of New Rangers;
David King AKA The Glib And Shameless Liar - Guilty of 41 charges of defrauding the South African Exchequer.

The best thing is that your servile forelock tugging support welcomed them all as heroes.

Goalkeepers are different, they can play till they are 40. We still have a fairly young team. Some experienced players are needed.
Davie Weir played until he was 40:

Rangers

Scottish Premier League: 2008–09, 2009–10, 2010–11
Scottish Cup: 2008, 2009
Scottish League Cup: 2008, 2010, 2011

On 7 May 2010 it was announced Weir had also won the Scottish Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year Award, the oldest player ever to receive this accolade - just three days before his 40th birthday. Soon afterwards, Weir agreed another one-year contract which saw him play on into his forties. He became the third oldest player ever to compete in the UEFA Champions League on 14 September 2010 in Rangers' 0-0 away draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford and he became the joint oldest outfield player in Champions League history when he played against Bursaspor in December 2010, aged 40 years 211 days. Weir captured his third league title with Rangers as captain on the week of his 41st birthday when Rangers defeated Kilmarnock 5-1 on the last day of the season beating Cetlic to the title by a single point.
0-0 away to Man Utd at 40 then I hardly think 31 and 34 is something to worry about playing in Scotland.

Your lack of self awareness springs to the fore again Franco.

Remember the stuff you've been coming out with over 1 game for the last 4 months?

The next title win will be the sweetest, even sweeter than playing you off the park at Hampden.

I'm glad you enjoyed it but ultimately it meant nothing when you were hammered in the final by Hibs.

My point was that Celtic fans (most old enough to have been fans 1990-94/5) have such short memories when it comes to shambolic running of major football clubs. Both the Old Firm have nearly been ruined. Never again.

Anyone who thinks Toure or Lescott (or Senderos who's only 31) will struggle up here is deluded. Outside the OF, the Dons and Hearts, the strikers up here define the word workmanlike. Had Lescott and Senderos been Celtic signings, I would commend them for bringing in 'older' but quality players, as they did with Toure. Quality is quality, even at 34-35 or even 37, and frankly they will stroll the SPL.

I would still like us to look at the younger CH at Forest we are linked with: Jack Hobbs. 6'3, has pace, ex-Liverpool and Leicester.

No Rangers for 4 years, and we are still the last Scottish side to do the domestic treble. And managed to get a Celtic manager the sack.

I think you might actually believe that. It would be akin to St Mirren fans saying they got Mowbray the sack in 2010. Deila suffered a mutual consent by many cuts.

Franco has went awfully quiet, he must be away up the Co-op to buy some Kleenex in the hope that Hapoel score or a Celtic fan has a Palestine flag in the ground tonight.

And my point was that we got rid of them whilst sections of your support have given every dodger involved at Ibrox a heroes welcome.

Yeah, and you believe the SF defeat wasn't the last straw for most Tic fans. That defeat most certainly contributed greatly to his demise.
